The uniqueness of Coco Steamboat is attributed to three core values; tradition, sincerity and authenticity. A strong heritage that resulted in recipes derived from an illustrious family heritage that transcends generations, a sincere mind-set to constantly add value to customers by giving the best dining experience from table to taste and lastly, an authentic art of broth making to ensure a standard of richness and flavour in every pot, allowing the restaurant to constantly exceed expectations.

Overall, I do acknowledge their soup based was really delicious and all their seafood is truly fresh. Not to forget their homemade prawn ball and mackerel ball were tangy and tasty too. As for the price, I would say it is fair because it cost about RM40/pax not inclusive beverage to get yourself full. Basically, I have never had such an amazing steamboat experience for quite a long time. I will definitely recommend everyone to think about this restaurant when you have sudden crave of seafood. They have 3 branches which are at Taman Bukit Hijau, Cheras, Batu 11 Cheras and this one from Jalan Klang Lama. Once again let me remind you, if you are here after 6.00pm, please be prepared to wait about 30 minutes to one hour for a table.

Overall, it’s still a satisfying steamboat experience and we enjoyed the pork bone soup a lot. At the end of the meal, the soup becomes super tasty but not salty, which is why we were able to drink a lot of it without getting thirsty.

Coco Steamboat along Old Klang Road is always packed with people – a sign that the food must be good. Or so I thought. You’re encouraged to make a reservation, or risk waiting for a table to free up. The place is huge and sits easily 1,000 pax at once; maybe more.

We ordered Coco Steamboat’s popular Double Stewed Soup with whole bone of pork knuckle. For this soup base you need to pay RM 20.90 for a maximum of 5 persons sharing. Each additional 1 person will need to add-on RM 1. This soup is the best steamboat soup I have ever tasted, and you can see almost every table here will order this milky soup base.

This pot of milky pork bone soup (RM17.50) with giant pork knuckles is the piece de resistance here. There are also white cabbages, sliced turnips, deep fried shredded yam, deep fried bean curd and plenty of black pepper inside the soup base. It has a slightly complex flavour – porky (pork bone ma), sweet (white cabbages and turnips) with a nice little punch of heat (black peppers). So delicious!
