      We didn’t dislike any of the dishes, but we weren’t excited by any of them either. It’s good home-style cooking, but it’s not going to blow your socks off. Service was efficient and the food came fast.

        Verdict: With so many good reviews I’ve read online (some even said this is the best choice when comes to Nyonya dining in Melaka), my dining experience certainly wouldn’t make it the best Nyonya restaurant in Melaka. Perhaps I’ve order the wrong dishes. Food was just decent but did not mind-blowing and I’ve had a better Nyonya meal elsewhere. (Read THIS)

          This little Nyonya restaurant is located at Melakaraya area. We went pretty late, about 2pm-ish and yet the queue is still long! Nevertheless, the wait was not that long. We observed that the dishes come within 10 minutes after sitting down, so most of the dishes may have already been prepared way earlier.

              After visiting Malacca for more than 5 times over the course of 5 years; I realized I never actually had a good nyonya meal from Malacca. Today I finally managed to enjoy the real nyonya food in Malacca.

                Overall the food is just average, wasn't up to our standard for Nyonya food. The price was slightly lower than Cottage Spices but taste wise is incomparable. For my personally view, I will prefer Cottage Spices more than Makko. The advantage is the capacity of space is much more bigger than Cottage Spices, more comfortable when dine in.

                    The Makko Nyonya Restaurant is arguably one of the more popular restaurant in Melaka Raya, and so far it has been one of the tourists favourites to enjoy the uniqueness of the Peranakan Cuisines. It is definitely a must-try. Final verdict: 8/10

                      When you are in Melaka, searching for Nyonya food or Peranakan food is very common. When you have local who stayed there for more than 20 years like my uncle who recommended me the best Nyonya food in Melaka, you just have to trust him. So he brought me to this place called Restoran Nyonya Makko.

                            馬六甲拉也麥哥娘惹餐廳，開業25年，老闆娘阮美玲是道地娘惹後裔，而老闆卓群生則算是“娘惹女婿”。卓氏告訴記者，娘惹菜與印度菜有相同之處，所用香料（rempah）差不多一樣，不同的是，印度菜香料用量大，使其味道濃郁，反而娘惹菜，所用材料多，香 料的味道僅是“恰到好處”。娘惹菜式可說是百花齊放，但為眾人所熟悉的，大多數只有“Ayam Ponteh”、“Ikan Cili Garam”（辣椒煎魚）、“Sambal Bendih”（參峇羊角豆）、“Ayam Buah Keluak”（印尼黑果雞）、“Chap Chai”（炒雜菜）、“Itik Tim”（鹹菜鴨湯）、“Udang Masak Nenas”…

                              We decided to drop by Nyonya Makko restaurant for dinner after rounding for about half an hour near Melaka Raya. Since dad mentioned that he had a lovely dinner here before about 10 years ago, he would like to have a revisit to see if they were as good. Nyonya Makko was established since year 1984 and it quotes; 25 years of good original taste!
