The char siew pork ribs tasted strangely like the Chinese-style barbeque pork ribs I used to have from the Commonwealth Crescent Market – sweet, glazed and slightly sticky from hoisin sauce, without much caramelisation and with flesh that was neither very tender nor very tough. Quite a middle of the road thing for me.
