I totally enjoyed the Steamed Giant Garouper with Cordyceps Flower, Stir-fried Prawns with Hawthorn Sauce, Braised Pork Knuckle with Dried Oysters & Sea Moss and who can say No to a glistening BBQ Crispy Suckling Pig?
A traditional favourite on the menu this festive season is the Steamed Clay Pot Rice with Chinese Waxed Meat. Made with Chinese sausages specially flown in from Hong Kong, this dish requires up to 45 minutes to prepare for the flavours of the vegetables, Chinese herbs and meat to infuse into the rice leaving a distinct and rich flavour.
One of my favorite dishes here was this Braised Pork Knuckle with Dried Oysters and Sea Moss. Perfectly executed, the pork knuckle is braised until the meat is tender and layers of fat seamlessly melts in your mouth. So good!
Stir Fried Prawns with Hawthorn Flakes Sauce, the winner among other dishes we sampled from Li Yen Chinese New Year menu this year. Big, bouncy prawns lightly deep fried to lock in juiciness, further stir-fried with Hawthorn sauce to coat on delightful tangy sweetness. Don’t mind having half a dozen of them. Highly recommended.

Deep Fried Nian Gao with Yam 芋头炸年糕 We were already quite full by the time this Deep Fried Nian Gao was served but this is real good! Super crispy golden brown outer layer encasing sweet, creamy yam, sandwiching Chinese glutinous rice cake at the center.

There will be three lunch menus, with prices starting from RM138 nett per person (minimum 6 persons), which includes dishes such as prosperity yee sang, dim sum selection, soup, duo meat combination, prawns, claypot rice with waxed meat and dessert. For dinner, there will also be three festive set menus available, with prices starting from RM1,888 nett per table of 10 persons. We were invited to the restaurant last week to sample their Dinner Menu B (RM2,388 nett per table of 10 persons).
