Purple and white corn from Janda Baik are the stars of this dish. Sweet and crunchy, the corn kernels are tossed with Spanish air dried beef shards, charred local vine tomatoes, a hint of sambal aioli and garnished with Asam pedas salt for a burst of flavours.

In sum, Tapestry scores all the right points for lovely ambiance, thoughtfully melded West-meet-East menu, and brunch food that is actually enjoyable. We all enjoy a good surprise, and Tapestry is definitely one in our books – it is probably one of the best brunch places KL has to offer at the moment for something cozy and inventive at the same time.

Reasons to visit Tapestry Dining Chow Kit: local produce, modern flavours on the grill; stylish setting; there was not a dish we tried tonight that we didn’t like – if forced to narrow an order though – don’t miss the Zucchini Barramundi Otak-Otak and Sarawakian Native Job’s Tears “Risotto.”

Lightly-battered fried chicken brushed with honey sriracha glaze and served with a side of fries and fennel salad. turns out to be better than we expected. The glaze is good, fill with mild sweet, souries and bitter taste that suits on the sauce and also fried to perfection. – recommended

The beef is salty as expected since it is "Salt Beef" but I did not expect the beef to be in tiny cubes as shown in the photo above.

Soba (RM28+) If you love the twist of Japanese, grab this awesome Soba which is packed with the beautiful fresh ingredient such as spring onion, seaweed, bonito flakes, chicken and battered egg yolk. I love the slurpilicious sensation and every mouthful is divinely good!

I especially loved the French toast, which is made using hot cross bun... so sinful. If our kids were here, we know they would totally dig these!

Reasons to visit Rise and Shine by Tapestry KL: A vibrant and comfortable atmosphere that offers unique twists on both Malaysian and Western brunch. Of course we had to start with an all-time favourite, the classic Rise & Shine Eggs Benedict @ RM28 featuring two free-range poached eggs juicily partnered with beetroot-cured salmon sitting on a bubble & squeak drizzled with bunga kantan (torch ginger) hollandaise. The reddish hue of the beetroot-cured salmon was visually appealing. The hollandaise sauce was tasty and light from the specks of bunga kantan in the sauce.

The Chicken comes with two pieces of meat – a thigh and a drumstick. It was nicely glazed honey + sriracha sauce, which gave it a nice sweet, sticky feel rather than spicy. If you are a fan of the Korean Fried Chicken, then perhaps you’d like this dish. It was crispy on the outside, meaty on the inside. The dish comes with a side of chips/ fries and fennel salad. If you are not too hungry and do not fancy a meal that is too heavy, filling – do consider The Chicken.
