Proudly the first ACCOR hotel in Langkawi, Mercure Langkawi which is strategically located at the heart of Pantai Cenang, yet slightly hidden away by Cenang Mall, the hotel was officiated by Tun M and is truly a wonderful place for your next vacation in Langkawi…
The stylish, sassy, savvy little sister of the Marriott Group, Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah is located in Pantai Tengah and within walking distance to the popular Pantai Cenang…
Including two ok cocktails and a cider, it was RM165, due to 10% off the steamboat, 35% off the burger, and 50% off drink. That led to an odd time when working out the bill, and three different receipts, but this minor delay was worth it for the food. We thought we’d probably go back in future.
Positive – the whole stay is amazing to be honest…the staff are friendly, and the place is clean, and for what I am paying… My bathroom, my bed and my view (when I open the door) is such a dream come true…. Negatives – the garden area and the lane can be a bit dark at night to walk for a scaredy cat like me…. It is tucked inside a “kampung” off the main road….
I got the Dash Deluxe Garden room which was pretty spacious at 42m2 and came with a super king bed and 400 thread count cotton linens… So yes, the bed is undeniably cosy and guaranteed me a good sleep… And the resort mascot, the turquoise bunny plushie sits welcomingly in the middle of the bed….
The rooms are modern and chic, and come with 49" Smart TVs, complimentary mini-bar and complimentary hi-speed Wi-Fi connectivity. All rooms are also equipped with tech-features such as motion sensors, which activate the power supply when a guest enters or leaves the room. This is part of Aloft's efforts in being more environment-friendly. Our room, located on the 8th floor, comes with a balcony which opens up to the sea, offering the best sunset views in the evenings.
Nook burger (RM28) - juicy grilled beef patty, Cheddar cheese, crispy beef bacon, tomato, onion, lettuce, gherkin, sesame bun. Loved that it came with sweet potato fries.
Stayed in a Deluxe Room, with a comfy queen-sized bed, dressing table, TV and a Dash bunny to snuggle with. No bathtubs, but there is a nice shower, a wardrobe with bathrobes + slippers, as well as coffee and tea making facilities
Ribeye Beef Grilled Platter - at RM 60.00, we have a high expectation for this and assume it would be a better, juicier, tastier version of the Korean marinated beef! Sadly, it wasn't to be; to put it simply, this was just pieces of ribeye with light seasoning. Nothing amazing, even after i wrapped it up with rice and lettuce; Korean style, apparently.
To be fair, most of the items like soft shell crabs, fish fillet and lobster were average taste. Worst was the serving of king prawns which lacked the freshness i would have expected from a good restaurant.
