Lunch set available around RM 15 with free ice lemon tea, or add on RM 7 to upgrade to Cappuccino. The food is actually of decent quality, with wife thinks it should have more sauce (too dry). I..
Unagi with Rice and Japanese curry with chicken karaage (above). The portion was very generous, with three huge chunks of fried chicken, rice wrapped in a perfectly fluffy omelette, flooded with a savoury curry sauce. Tastewise, it was pretty good although I felt that it could have benefited from extra seasoning (curry was quite bland). The chicken was excellent, and despite the large size it was juicy and thoroughly cooked, with crisp skin.
One of the decent cafe in Puchong.
The bowl looked fiery red when it came to the table; there were soft slices of tofu swimming within, and the soup’s colour contrasted nicely with the enoki mushrooms and spring onion garnish on top. The soup was the bomb. Some places cut corners and add more kimchi paste, which means you get watery, ‘flavoured’ soup — but with this, I could really taste the texture of fibrous, blended vegetables, and there was a good amount of kimchi within as well. It was thick and sour, perfect for whetting the appetite, and the slight viscosity meant that the soup clung to each strand of ramyeon for maximum flavour. Did I also mention that the pork slices were super tender and had a great ratio of lean and fat?
I just want to mention real quick that this is one of the few restaurants that has one of the best customer service I have ever experienced. This is really rare in Malaysians restaurants I must say. The owner is insanely friendly and all smiles attending to every table's request, looking around at every table every few minutes or so to see if everything is all good. You can see the leadership influence in his staff as they do the same as well. Kudos to the team!! So, let's get to it!
Cheesy Baked Rice With Mushrooms. My only gripe with this is the lack of meat. They do provide you with quite a lot of veggie and cheese to make up for it. Certainly a notch above Kim Gary's cheese baked rice.
Today's dinner choice was "江南海鲜面 Cantonese Seafood Noodle" which comes with clam, steamed fish and squids and lots of vegetables, nice but not fantastic!
The restaurant offers both vegetarian as well as meat/fish option in their menu, generally a little bit healthier option than the normal "Dai Chao".
Nice cake and pie, and good coffee.
The Mee Jawa set lunch is decent. Coffee and cake is always good.
The restaurant serves all-day breakfast, western cuisines, variety of cakes as well as local delights such as Laksa.
Japanese Curry Rice with Pork Katsu (RM 22) taste good, but the meat is a bit hard. l love the Croquette (RM 10), soft, crunchy and tasty.
My favourite western restaurant in Puchong.
Thai Pesto Pasta and Salmon with Hollandaise Sauce is good. Truffle fries so so.
This place is still very popular after so many years. The Fried Chicken Nasi Kandar (RM 15) has really crispy chicken with 5 types of curry. You will feel guilty having this too often, and it is..
The fried chicken rice is okay, but the mutton is just too fat. The food is decent, but not something worth coming from far just to sample.
One of the very few nasi kandar stalls that’s operated by Chinese, it’s still a pork free affair with great taste and those crispy bits, price isn’t any chea...
Fried Kuey Teow is average, the otak otak muffin (should stick with the standard croissant option) slightly disappointed, but coffee still good.
Finally came early enough to try the Nasi Lemak and Ipoh Hor Fun, but need to queue around 20 munites. Mei Ru likes the Ipoh Hor Fun, and Nasi Lemak is not bad as well. Might return for them, but I..
Medan Selera Everyday Foodcourt Wantan Mee taste good but it could be better if they are more generous with the portion of the char siew. If you are not into wantan mee, there are many other food stalls available at Medan Selera Everyday Foodcourt Puchong.
Coffee okay, fried prawn noodle and pork noodle also okay. Curry puff not nice.
The famous Puchong wantan mee, previously in Fatt Kee coffeeshop, has moved to a food court nearby (same road) The charsiew is quite good, yummy
About RM 10 for a plate of pork meat, Ramen also RM 10. Taste wise pretty alright, good value.
Among all, our favourite was the Ribeye Beef as it was marinated and can be enjoyed medium. If beef isn’t your favourite type of meat or can’t have it due to religious obligation, you can opt for the Pork Belly.
Chicken rice is pretty good, RM 10.50 for roast chicken with Char Siew. I find the Chee Cheong Fun stall pretty unique, huge portion with tasty ingredients, and comes with shrimp chillies.
Pan Mee (RM 8) not bad.
The wantan noodle stall has Hakka noodles as well, which is not bad.
Food is fairly tasty, price wise slightly high.
(R18) Dry Curry Chicken Noodle, 17.50 ringgit. The Dry Curry Noodles arrived first and guys – it was sooooo yummy! I’ve tried several dry curry noodles before, the ones that usually includes kuay teow, mee hoo or wan tan mee but I have never tasted dried curry with maggi yawww!! Okla, my friend was pretty sure that it was wan tan mee but it tasted like maggi to me. So, I am just gonna go with my take on it, lol. The dish came with 4 chunky, meaty pieces of chicken and a generous amount of chicken curry, the kind you would find at shops serving Chap fun? mixed rice? Yummmm! Mix it all up and what you’d get is real tasty. I loved it. I slurped it all up within a minute.
Lucky for us, Reminisce Cafe did not let us down. We had an overall enjoyable dinner. As what it has been named - Reminisce, you'll feel like you are walking down memories lane of your childhood. The interior were meticulously decorated with nostalgic pieces with each piece you can tell a story from your childhood.
Have a taste of the local delicacy in this food court, with varieties from more than 20 stalls, you’ll never go hungry. This episode we will bring you in the...
I ordered Braised Duck Rice, while others ordered TomYum Vermicelli, Lamb Chop etc. We also ordered Rojak, Satay and Oyster Omelette to share. I shared my braised duck rice with Nicholas. He enjoyed it pretty much. I am not really a fan of 'cinnamon' and found that the cinnamon flavour in the braised duck is overwhelming.
Korang memang tau kan kat sini memang terbaek nasi kandar dier!
Ayam kicap ni pelik sebab memang hitam legam. Akupun tak tau dia guna cikap cap apa.
Okay Thai food.
Nice and affordable place for dinner, my parents didn't complain (which is a good sign). Might need to wait a bit during weekend dinner, but table turnover is fast. Thinking of coming back.
Although Krua Thai is not a fancy place, I like the ambience and I think it hits the spot for quality, authentic Thai cuisine served in a rustic atmosphere. The prices are average for this type of establishment, ranging from RM20 for sharing plates, and RM12 + for individual rice or noodle dishes.
Most popular stall here seems to be Fish Head Noodle (RM 13). Good tasty chunks of fish meat, and I enjoy the soup and noodle as well. Coffee is quite cheap (RM 1.70)
The dry ramen with minced meat (RM 9) is pretty nice, and it also comes with a fish paste soup. Fried Kway Teow (RM 8.50) is okay. Ice coffee (RM 1.70) is okay.
Duck Noodles (RM8.50) I was reluctant at first but I eventually gave in when the duck noodles came. I was greeted by the fragrance of the herbal essence soup and instead of using any other noodles, they used mee suah (wheat vermicelli), which I think suited the soup the most because mee suah efficiently absorbs the flavour of the soup.
I enjoyed my mushroom and ham ‘carbonara’: it was creamy but not cloying, had generous amounts of mushroom and ham, and some cheese powder on top. Of course, no Italian chef in their right mind would call this actual carbonara, but most of the versions here are bastardised anyway. 😛
Berry-Nana (RM 19) They looked amazing! Great pancake beautifully puffed up and golden with warm and light, yet very filling textures. It doesn’t taste too sweet, has that nice eggy flavors in it. Loving the generous amounts of strawberries and bananas too! Ice cream was alright. I enjoyed it a lot without needing to add condensed milk. FYI you’ll have to wait at least 30 minutes for it!
Can come here for dessert and snacks: Cendol (RM 5.90), Sago gula melaka (RM 6.90) and Cucur Udang (RM 6.90).
The Cendol (RM 5.90) is really nice, fragrant gula melaka, nice coconut milk and big fat cendol. They have nyonya kuih as well (RM 3.50 a piece). Both Kuih Apam and Kuih Ketayap are nice. My new..
Interesting Mee Bodoh and Kapitan Curry Chicken at Rasadulu Puchong #puchongfood
A good place with a variety of Nasi Lemak styles to choose from, but more than that they also offer good Westerns, Biriyani’s, Fried Rice and at very reasonable prices.
Bro and Pop’s Nasi Lemak with Ayam Berempah (fried chicken thigh) came to the table early. The rice was thick with the fragrance of coconut milk, served with spicy fried anchovies, emping (fried cracker), fried egg and spiced fried chicken, which was crunchy on the outside, flavourful and tender on the inside. Sambal delivered a spicy kick.
Hainam tea and coffee is good. I like the Chee Cheong Fun with red sauce, and the White Curry Mee is okay.
Some stalls closed after 2pm, so better to come earlier.
