Overall, the atmosphere at Chooi Yue is cool with local families gathering for their weekend tea session ( yum cha in Cantonese ) and the vast variety of items on their menu is enough to make anyone happy.
Maybe one of the best modern dim sum place in Ipoh. Queue is systematic and fast, service as good. Most of the dim sum are delicate and delicious, good quality.
♥Verdict: We were pleased with the food quality and I especially enjoyed the Scallop Har Gao with fresh, bouncy prawns and the addition of celery imparted a bold flavour to it. Steamed Rice Noodle with Shrimp You Tiao also another favourite of mine here. Crunchy You Tiao and shrimps were wrapped with silky smooth rice roll, served with soy sauce, a dish that scored well in terms of flavour and texture.
A salad bowl. We enjoyed this salad very much. The salad consisted of ice or crystal vegetable which I love to eat.
We ordered a half poached chicken for 3 people.
Food is quite alright and that's it. But service was quite nice la I got to say.
Black pepper chicken chop for my friend @ RM 19.90 Grilled chicken chop served with blt pasta salad.
Smoked Pork Knuckle
Crispy roast pork Aglio Olio @ RM 23.10
Go in a group, and you'll get to try more of their selection. Way to many chef recommended dishes.
Been here couple of times and never get bored of it. So yea. Definitely a yes to this place.
No one will say no to some coffee-sipping and pastries-savouring.
We ordered a set with 3 pieces chicken for hubby and I to share. The set include a honey cheese biscuit and I ordered additional 3 pieces biscuits.
There are plenty of unique restaurants in Ipoh, 1919 Restaurant & Gallery is definitely one of them. It offers a different range of Chinese dishes here, as well as ...
Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is massive and it’s also equipped with pool tables, flat screens playing sports, electronic dart boards and live singing to keep you entertained. Happy hour is between 4pm – 10pm (5 half pints @ RM60++, RM68++ for a Tiger tower) and the live singing shows are usually on Sundays starting from 9.30pm onward.
Overall, it's a nice experience.
My friend recommended this "Kapitan Chicken" and she was right, it was good.
Wat tan hor (flat rice noodle with thick egg gravy)
Fried noodle Mamak style. This was an add-on even though we had white rice.
Reasons to visit Little Allegra Bakery, Ipoh: cosy neighbourhood café with inspiring artistic touches; excellent baked goods; Padre Coffee.
We ordered 3 bowls of Bubur Cha Cha (sweet potato, taro, sago in sweet coconut milk). We enjoyed every spoonful of it.
Hubby ordered beef noodle, which I was tempted to order but changed my mind. Hubby enjoyed this beef noodle especially when the salted vegetable gave it an unique taste.
I asked for their special and I was recommended the above Bao Loh Fun which is noodle (lai fun) with minced chicken meat, peanut, sliced carrot, Chinese pickled vegetable and sauce. To add more oomph to the noodle, I added the chili sambal to the noodle. You can't get this unique and tasty noodle elsewhere.
Overall, price is too much for what we had.
Probably should try KL branch instead to see is it the same or just as horrible. Definitely not that worth to go to in Ipoh.
A dinner invitation at Kok Thai Restaurant, Ipoh.
The dishes that filled our hungry tummies... The food above can never go wrong....
Stewed lamb with spaghetti for me.
Ona Laksa is their speciality, so I must order this for my first visit. At first, it looked like tuna noodles with milk. I was told to add the spicy paste that came in a small saucer. Hmmmm....yummy! A very special version of laksa.
