Despite it not being aimed at my demographic, I really enjoyed TeddyVille. It’s whimsical, fun and charming, and I couldn’t help but get swept along by the absurdity. If you aren’t staying in Batu Ferringhi, then it’d be a bit out of the way – but look into the eyes of the bears and tell them they’re not worth it!
Overall, it is a nice museum to visit and you can find out more about Penang together with the cute little bears.
So why, as I am normally good at compartmentalising vegetarian difficulty, does the Spice Market not score more highly? The simple answer is price. It’s RM198 plus tax per person, and I just can’t justify that for the handful of dishes I could eat. Maybe if I got there at the start and really tucked into the ice cream! But if you went with a bunch of seafood lovers with large appetites and a wallet to match, then it might suit you.
The Love-A-Lobster Buffet Dinner Promotion at Spice Market Cafe (SMC), Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa in Penang only comes once a month. Happening on the first Thursday of the month, the buffet is a plethora of glorious lobster dishes on top of the usual buffet spread.
Rasa Sayang's sister property, Golden Sands Resort, is also having Chinese-themed buffets concurrently. The meals will be served at Garden Cafe and Sigi's Bar & Grill.
Surprisingly, nowadays Sigi's also serve great Asian dishes. In this sense, you can have all your crave fixed at a single location without going multiple places and risk exposing yourselves to risks
Enjoy a delightful worry-free dining experience at Golden Sands Resort, Penang.

I remain confused as to why Andrew’s Kampung is so wildly popular among tourists while many other similar restaurants don’t get half the attention. The prices are very fair for what you get, but the food didn’t blow my mind and the ambience is mediocre. I think this is a cut and dried case of TripAdvisor sheeping. However, this place does have the one thing that other restaurants do not, which is Andrew himself, who seems like a naturally friendly guy. I am not disappointed by my visit here, but I do not think I would come back. The hour-long wait for a table and food (even at 9pm – far too late for the dinner rush, isn’t it?) are not worth it to me.
We also had the Sizzling Beef (RM17.90) served on a hotplate. The beef was tender and flavorful... so good!
The Smoked Duck Breast Pesto Fettuccine was delicious but it was a little odd as there was minimal hint of Pesto (or Basil). In fact, it felt like Carbonara... but it didn't matter as long as it was good
As you walk further in, you will be welcomed by a nice cosy ambiance that certainly makes dining comfort.
餐厅分成室内室外,而且还有上下两层,室内可以容纳72人,室外则可以容纳18人

Miami Beach is a very casual beach. There are no loungers, showers, and no area along the shore that is “restricted for patrons of X hotel only.” Unlike some other beaches on the island, the water is not “policed” either. You will always be able to swim freely, without some lifeguard telling you you’re too far out, or not letting you in the water at all because the conditions are too dangerous. If you just want to beach it up and not be harassed by anyone about where you’re allowed to sunbathe or swim, come here.
A good start is the meat platter and we went for the regular version (200gm). The platter is flurried with a selection of hams, and cheeses, besides plates of pickles, olives, and delicious mustard. We nibbled our way through the platter with warm bread.
Equally delicious was the Beef Goulash, a well-spiced and reasonably seasoned stew served with warm crusty bread... a little peppery but flavorful and dangerously addictive.
We only managed to sample simple items like Yogurt Parfait and Bagel. The taste was pretty straight-forward and self-explanatory but if I may give some advice, I would like the Yogurt Parfait (the Caramel flavor was missing too) to have a touch of Cinnamon powder... for a more dimensional flavor... as for the Bagel... it would be better if they could be more generous with the Cream Cheese. Same goes to the Sweet Potato Latte, the Sweet Potato element could be bolder... it was too light to be discerned (except the color).
The menu is pretty limited so we resorted to some unconventional choices for our lunch - Smoked Salmon Bagel (RM 14). While the bagel texture was done alright and there was a generous portion of salmon, the entire dish just did not feel great, probably due to cream cheese spread cup was being used instead of self prepared cream cheese. Though the crew reminded us additional cream cheese can be requested but we felt it was more of the quality and not quantity of the cream cheese that calls for all the differences. Moreover, the expected aroma from sesame on top of bagel was absence.
The 5-star resort has two wings; Rasa Wing is considered the more prestigious one.
Fish lovers has to try the Snapper, flavoured with seaweed butter, garnished with caviar, capers, peanut, chives, and lemon to create the zesty touch. Fish skin was deep fried to create gradation of texture to the Snapper. Alternatively, savour the tender and juicy Duck Breast that glazed with green peppercorn sauce, and beautifully dressed with green vegetables and raspberry.
A plate of Nasi Kandar with chicken or fish, rice, egg, and veggie usually will be charged RM10 or more. However, the same dishes that were ordered at Nasi Kandar Jaffar, Tanjung Bungah only cost RM7.50 which is the most affordable in Penang. Not just the price is affordable, but even the dishes are delicious. Especially the fried chicken that is so tender inside and crispy outside. The mixed gravies are also very flavourful.
The mee goreng here is fried with charcoal and their signature is Mee Goreng Sotong. The mee gorang is packed with chargrill flavor while the sotong “squids” are packed with seafood flavor and chewy
Restoran Berkath is the famous Mee Goreng shop in Tanjung Bungah. I've start patrioting their mee goreng back in Year 2011. Since then they were selling at Kwong Ban Lee Coffee Stall. 3 years later, they have moved to their own shop just opposite the road. The mee goreng here is fried with charcoal and their signature is Mee Goreng Sotong. The mee gorang is packed with chargrill flavor while the sotong "squids" are packed with seafood flavor and chewy.
Imagine the freshest seafood on a sizzling hot pan doused over a thick, spicy-sweet sauce and give it a quick stir fry; when served with a squeeze of Lime juice, you know there's a soft spot for the Malaysian in you. Since its opening in October 2016, Lan's Corner Ikan Bakar that sits on a little hill at Tanjung Bungah (right next to the post office and Sunshine Bay Seafood Restaurant) has garnered an appreciate following. It is known to dish out some of the best Ikan Bakar in the neighborhood. There are a few cooking methods to the local seafood-produce listed on the menu, depending on your preference but we'd recommend their 'bakar' style with home-made sweet-spicy sauce. Prices may not be cheap but certainly commensurate with the portion and quality (especially freshness). Plan your visit here early as long wait is expected after 7 pm (and limited parking space).
No matter how many times you have been to Tanjung Bungah, there's a deliciously hidden side to the beach front town; some are even unknown by the locals. Ardent fans of Mee Udang need not travel all the way to Teluk Kumbar or Sungai Dua to curb the craving. Warung Tok Mat Mee Udang is one of the secrets well-kept by the locals but the place is well-hidden from the bustling Jalan Tanjung Bungah. To reach there, one needs to travel a path less-traveled (refer to the bottom of this review for the directions); those who made their way there are those who are in the know. It is known to serve some of the freshest Mee Udang in the neighborhood- the restaurant sits by the beach side, offering spectacular beach view to its diners. The owner is related to a fisherman and it explains the source of supplies.
The star of the menu is the mee udang – essentially a bowl of yellow noodles, scalded and cooked with large prawns in a lightly spicy sweet broth. The broth packs a punch, pushed by the freshness of the seafood, chili and tomato. Garnishing include fresh onions, deep-fried shallots and spring onions for a refreshing spin. Besides the popular choice of yellow mee, the prawns can be cooked with koew teow, bee hoon or maggie mee (instant noodles). This mee udang is always a big hit with diners but if prawn does not appeal to you, it can be replaced by crab.
