Sapore Italian Spanish Restaurant & Bar doesn't have extravagant or beautiful interior design, but they certainly compensate this with the quality of their food.
重点是,食物很好吃!这里绝对是一个可以满足大家的味蕾和肚子的好地方!
Grilled Pork Neck RM48, our favourite dish that night. Tender, juicy cut of Iberico pork lightly marinated with garlic, salt, pepper and rosemary, grilled and served over smooth, finely mashed truffle potato and pork juice.
There’s not a huge range for vegetarians, but I think I would like to go back some time. Overall the experience was good enough I could forgive the weak veggie burger (and my loved ones liked their food), though I would try something else instead. Worth a go if you’re nearby and fancy a burger.
My Personal Opinion I was certainly satisfied with what I tried. I especially enjoyed the Smothered Steak and O'mega Salmon, so I wouldn't dismiss the place for a third visit. ^_~
The Daily Grind fits perfectly to provide another dining destination for the residents around KL.
Pork BBW (MYR 16/ pax) Then we realized that for this porky bbq, minimum order was 2 pax. We didn’t know earlier as it wasn’t stated there so yeah, we were pretty full to the brim towards the end. Nevertheless, the meat was fresh and tasteful.
And so, thanks to the tip off from le Penang buddy that this place called Po Cha Korean BBQ, was actually not bad with the taste as well as the generous portion- except that banchan here was not refillable. On top of that, this humble restaurant was run by an old Korean uncle who was conversant with very basic English, so please bear with him.
We ordered Army Stew @ RM 53, comes with the usual ingredients such as tofu, ham, sausage and ramyeon. The soup is pretty good, as hint of sweetness from the veggie, nice balance of spicy and sour. Pretty different compare to others.
Spaghetti con Arragosta (RM 43) For those who are a fan of spaghetti, do order this. It is cooked al-dente and the spaghetti with baby lobster, garlic, tomato, chili. The taste is superbly good and I love the light spiciness from the spaghetti itself.
Reasons to visit La Risata Ampang: friendly neighbourhood Italian restaurant; a good number of meat-free options; value for money
Overall, I love the soothing ambiance rendered by this café and resonates well with the delicate atmosphere. It certainly makes a good place for a relaxing respite as you unwind the day placidly.
A special Korean dining experience with majority of food are specially made from scratch by the owner. If you are looking for some healthy yet delicious food, this is the place for you!
In the end, I had to order something else and went with the Crispy Spring Rolls @ RM13.90 (for 6 pcs) wrapped in minced chicken and prawns, served with a sweetish-sourish dip containing pickled vegetables of carrot and jicama. The rolls were freshly fried, came piping hot, were super crispy and had a good ratio of filling...so, no complaints on this.
Reasons to visit Super Saigon Ampang: come for the beef pho, get your caffeine kick with a strong iced coffee, and appreciate it all in a pleasant, cheery setting.
Reasons to visit: a whole range of vegan and vegetarian options right here in Ampang; pet-friendly café; cosy friendly feel – a happy neighbourhood vibe; coffee is superb; my two most-favoured dishes are the Eggs Florentine and the Salted Caramel Apple Cheesecake.
This is a great cafe and fast becoming one of my favourites in this part of town (that's closer to home). Their exciting version 4.0 menu is certainly on the right track with these add-on hot dishes to their menu of mostly pastas, gourmet sandwiches and salads. The three dishes that we tried will be great additions to their menu when it's finalised. I certainly hope the salmon fillet and zucchini and corn fritters make it on the menu permanently as I'd love to have them again. After two visits, I'm absolutely certain that there'll be a third.....and a fourth...and a....! Well, I've been here for dinner and after-dinner snacks, it's time I come when the sun is up...for some morning brekkies! ^_~
This charming cafe has a warm (no pun intended) and welcoming vibe. It's a great place for brekkies and coffees. I'm sure you'll find something to your liking from their breakfast menu of big breakfasts, bagels, pancakes, french toast, eggs benedict, florentine or arlington, or even just a classic egg toast. If that's not enough, they also have gourmet sandwiches, healthy salads and pastas for you to choose from. Service is warm (again, no pun intended) and friendly. I appreciated that they were very accommodating too to keep their kitchen open just a while longer for us. I envy Ampang folks as they're so lucky to have this great coffee joint near them (as well as that fantastic steak place just two doors away). Well, I suppose I ain't too far away myself and, as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, I'll be back! ^_~
Swetree is one of the more popular Halal-certified Korean restaurants in KL.
Suzi’s isn’t the sort of place you go out of your way for, but it’s a fair place to stop for a while on your journey. You can even get your car washed next door while you eat, which I suppose might mean we pop back more often.
Yuzu Matcha (MYR 16) Ironically, this round greenery cup didn’t belong to me but the monsieur, haha. Such citrusy-matcha combo was rather refreshing.
Reasons to visit The Butter Pantry: charming setting; heaven for the sweet tooth; decent coffee; pretty views; I’d return for the avocado toast and kombucha while Rich would be back for the carrot cake in a heartbeat.
The space is considered quite spacious, with seats by the windows, tables for larger groups and small round tables for couples/two pax/individual diners. Staffs are friendly so you may approach them if you need any recommendations. Come by for a teatime or dessert fix when you are nearby!
Reasons to visit JadJan Thai Street Food: a professional kitchen team; support a crew trying to survive difficult times; must order the Chilli & Lime Steamed Seabass and, of course, Mango Sticky Rice; the team is responsive to requests to reduce waste and accommodates guests bringing their own reusable containers for takeaway.
Overall, we enjoyed the Korean food at Jal Dae Ji Korean BBQ Restaurant Ampang. The Sundubu Jjigae red stew with tofu gives us a very good impression while the other BBQ pork is comfort food. Parking is available in front of the restaurant, if you could not find one, you probably need to walk slightly further.
My personal preference will be poached chicken or 'white chicken'. I eat this often and wherever and whenever I see them. It is fresh tasting, sweet and the texture is firm.
Overall, food is nice, coffee is good, and needless to say, service is friendly and attentive. They offered us extra chairs to put our bags and stuff, seeing that we were so clumsy taking photos while carrying our bags, as the table we secured only have two small chairs. Hahaha. So pai seh. #ThankYou for being so thoughtful, and we really like the tau fu fah with sesame!
Among the side dishes here, I like the salad the most. It taste really refreshing especially after you are eating lots of meats.
We liked Kangsanae, though it’s perhaps not as smooth an experience as some others in the area. However, the family atmosphere was charming, and I would be happy to return.
Overall, we could see why it was popular (twice we had tried to go and been put off by the long queue), as although it’s a little expensive, the food was rather good. Staff are young and inexperienced, and I think will settle in in time. Even though it’s not really like the original, it’s still worth visiting, especially for the pastries.
All in all, the dessert we had was definitely not a mid – and we also enjoyed the Arancini and pasta dishes. Service, as mentioned – was amazing!
