🧀🎉 Craving a taste of Taiwan's famous Stinky Toufu? Look no further! Introducing our mouthwatering Stinky Toufu, now available at Fisherman's Wharf Food Court.
Street Food in Penang is really some of the best food. Fisherman’s Wharf delivers some pretty good food from it’s stalls and a great view of the sea. In the end, we settled for a few things f…
The Manakeesh of Mr.Majd here is very crunchy with the delicious and appetizing topping. The Shawerma here also packed with smoky flavor while juicy inside. The price of the Manakeesh (pizza) here is also very reasonable, the 2nd piece is 50% off or buy 2 get 1 free.
Here's the location.
The Kolo Mee is good.
I love the noodle used for this kolo mee.
If you are here looking for something light to eat, then their French Toast is just enough for a light breakfast with a cup of coffee. The coffee that i try here at Thor Corr Phou Zi is their Signature Coffee with Nestum Topping. The coffee is nice but the Nestum does not really add much taste to the coffee, it is special for decoration.
The Fish Meat Curry Mee is a creamy one bowl noodle in a flavorful broth with okra and eggs. It also comes with a scoop of homemade chili paste that will enhance the flavor and increase the level of spiciness. This bowl of noodles is so delicious and satisfying.
【土库铺子】的咖喱面,可是他们开店以来最受大家喜爱的。
Right across the junction to Sungai Pinang and Jelutong, Jason Nyonya House is one of the latest Nyonya restaurants in town. The amiable restaurant has classic wooden house features with staircase at the entrance. It feels very homey, just like any casual dining spot in the neighborhood. The setting does not suggest that it is a Nyonya restaurant... as far as decor is concerned. The name sums it all, the place offers a simple, home-cooked style Nyonya menu. The classics such as Loh Bak, Joo Hoo Char, Inche Kabin, Assam Pedas are there with some additional 'specials of the day' (but we were a little underwhelmed the dish- Assam Prawns was not on the menu). After sampling some of the dishes, we reckon that they lacked the authentic Nyonya touch. Authenticity aside, the dishes were not shabby (if you are seeing the place as a standard Zhu Char place in lieu of Nyonya restaurant).
Sushi Ya offers Sushi at RM1.90 and RM2.90. Due to the relatively low price, it's quite popular among residents in Jelutong. It was crowded during my visit. However, the sashimi they served are not really that fresh. You can see from the maguro sushi below. I guess this is a trade-off for the price. Well, if you're not into raw fish, this might be a good place for you to have economical sushi.
Lovers of Sushi, Maki and Nigiri might be glad to know or not that Sushi Ya has opened a new outlet in Penang island. The brand is well-established at Raja Uda and is known for its economical offering. Many budget eaters flocked the place when it was first opened; the new branch at Straits Garden, Jelutong is highly visible from the bustling Jelutong Street. But how economical is economical, you wondered? The items run on the Sushi Belt are priced either at Rm 1.90 (for pink plates) and Rm 2.90 (for red plates); while those on the menu are priced relatively lower than most Japanese restaurants in town. The trade off is of course the quality, which equates to the prices- cheap. Oddly, though the prices seem cheap, the final bill came to (4) us was slightly over Rm 150 (plus surcharges). There was no satisfaction at all; unless required, we do not see ourselves patronizing the place in the future.
Something about dining al fresco on a gorgeous night in Penang. The smells of the food court waft through the air to make you hungrier and hungrier.
Spicy Sichuan Noodle was damn spicy that it basically numbs my tongue by the time I finish 1/2 bowl of my noodle. My advice is non-spicy eaters should give it a miss.
The big pot with all our selected ingredients are painted in red colour with the exception of a slight green colours from the coriander leaves. Even the okra we selected were covered in red colour also, signifying the chef really fry everything altogether with chili. Having said that, the taste of course was spicy too (we chose moderate level of spiciness).
For a no-frills Thai Mookata experience, look no further than this curious space at Automall, Karpal Singh Drive. Affordably priced at Rm 19.90 for a basic set (serves 2), budget watchers can now enjoy delicious Thai Steamboat at unbeatable price, well-complemented with sea breeze. The simple set includes some basic meat balls, greens and meat but those with a deeper pocket can always top up extra few dollars for the additional spread. Bangkok Garden BBQ is not air-conditioned and instead, it relies on the sea breeze so the best time to visit would probably in the evening. The serving portion is not that great but it would be perfectly fine to be served as supper in lieu of a proper meal. Bangkok Garden BBQ can be found right next to Sae Ma Eul Korean BBQ Restaurant.
Arabica Estate @ Karpal Singh Drive, Penang
Arabica Estate Cafe is a specialty coffee chain that serve specialty coffees, authentic Italian foods, delicious cakes and desserts.
Arabica Estate uses a stronger blend of coffee beans for chilled drinks.
The beauty of Injeolmi Bingsu is its simplicity... milk flavored shaved Ice topped with Mung Bean Flour, Mochi, Nuts and evaporated Milk. The shaved Ice was fine, soft and milky-sweet but the sweetness was of comfortable level, it was subtle and not saccharine sweet. The evaporated Milk increased the smoothness and milkiness of the sweet treat; overall, we thought it was quite delicious
Uniquely about Sun Kee is their Char Koay Teow with Oysters. So far there are not many in Penang. Serving fresh and juicy oysters this is the place for oyster lovers. Besides the oysters, the prawns here are fresh and big too.
Sun Kee Oyster Mee is one of the shops in Penang that specialized in selling dishes with oysters. The fried oyster omelet here is so nice and the oyster is so fresh, juicy, and succulent. Another highlight is the oyster stir-fried glass noodle, it is so flavourful and savory with an indept oyster aroma. The bak kee is another dish here that has been improvised from the classic recipe, the taste suits the younger generation. The herbal soup here also must not be missed as all of them are double boiled for long hours with nice herbs fragrant.
Now here's the interesting part that makes Akiyoshi unique in its own way.
Akiyoshi Automall, an informal Japanese drinking establishment that serves fresh seafood to compliment your drink with a breathtaking view of the ocean.
If you enjoy having some skewers, then Akiyoshi is one of the decent pick as you can see the chef preparing and grilling the skewers in kitchen. There are aplenty of choices but one of it we enjoyed is Gindara Teriyaki (Cod Fish). Its fatty acid gives it a greasy yet delectable taste, though we would have preferred a less bolder sauce. Otherwise, get a Shake Kama Syioyaki (Salmon Head) to have a taste on the chef's great grilling skills.

Overall, the food here is just average, nothing special to shout about. Food serving is fast, service is good. For me, i would just come here to kill some time maybe hang out with friends over a cup of drinks.
All other Hotpot ingredients were fresh; note-worthy ones include the Taichi Duo-Shrimp Paste and Fresh Fish Slices. The Taichi Duo Shrimp Paste has two flavors- original and spicy. Both were good and there were bits of the bouncy Shrimps in the paste.
