Although Main Place Mall is not big as another shopping centre but this is the place to be for plenty of enjoyable shop-in, chill-in, dine-in, style-in, game-in and pamper-in. It is more than enough for your daily needs such as a haircut, groceries shopping, dining, edutainment, beauty services (massage/ manicure), to unwind etc.
Interesting sweet and spicy concoction.
One of the favorite locations for night time 大炒 Dai Chao nearby USJ 12,16,17,18 residents, it is better to "Call Jeffrey +6012-337 0793 order and collect 30-40 minutes later". Otherwise, average waiting time is 45 minutes at the restaurant.
In 馬來西亞 Malaysia and 新加坡 Singapore, popiah is normally part of the Chinese cuisine (as a 小吃 snack item) of these two countries.
USJ21's 鴻豐 Hoong Foong Dim Sum (have been here since 1999, more than 20 years now), is no slouch; perhaps still have its own regular customers (fan base).
Dim Sum prices are still at rm$5 - rm$12 per plate, with average prices around rm$6/plate, generally considered reasonable and affordable.
Both 上汤竹笙券 Bambo Fungi roll & 上湯蝦球 Supreme soup Prawn ball sampled today are definitely worth ordering!
Both the rm$7 "咖喱雞雲吞麵 Curry Chicken Wanton Mee" and rm$1.50/pc "水餃 Sui Gao" were above average, breakfast at USJ16's 貴賓樓美食中心 Restoran Vest Inn.
New Chee Cheong Fun stall in USJ16's Restoran Vest Inn offering Curry Chee Cheong Fun and some home-made Yong Tao Foo;
A Humble little stall at the back of the USJ16 "Vest Inn Kopitiam) run by a elderly woman, and serves quite a good bowl of Dry Pan Mee.
business is usual for most and parking has become somewhat worst at Main Place area.
Lots of people come here for the laksa or cendol.
Cham was very "Gao", but despite requesting for less sweet; it was still delivered as it is which is very sweet.
Yellow Ranger (蛋薄餅券 Egg Wrapped) & Megazord (豬油炸薄餅券 Pork Lard)
Charsiew wasn't the best in town but the well braised chicken feet was good enough, the stall offers generous amount of crunchy pork lard and green chili.
Despite the lockdown, quite a few stalls are available for morning breakfast and lunch
It is the new McCafe digital Stamp Collection via the McCafe Mobile App, it is 1 stamp for each coffee purchase (regardless of size).
Thoughts: Fast food for breakfast.
Interesting "香辣檸檬雞肉漢堡 Spicy Lemon chicken burger"!
Not forgetting my favourite fried shimeji mushrooms, served with a small dollop of Japanese-style mayonnaise. The batter was perfectly crispy and salty, but the mushrooms retained their moistness on the inside.
Beer, Wifi, Pork Free, Paid Mall Parking available
My main course was 炙三味 Aburi Zanmai & 调味香菇寿司 Ajitsuke Shiitake, not the best but I enjoyed it. The Tempura Soba and Karaage Rice was also just OK!
According to its website, Tonkatsu by Ma Maison was founded by Akinori Terazawa in Tokyo, Japan back in 1976. It has about 16 outlets in Japan, overseas venture in Singapore in Malaysia's Klang Valley.
The DX “Mameton” Set (DXまめ豚定食) RM53.90 is the signature combo dish in Ma Maison. This set comes with Pork Loin, Jumbo Prawn, Steam Rice, Miso Soup, and Radish Pickles truly will bring diners a pure satisfaction on having each cut from any meat parts. Delectable Pork Loin tastes scrumptious with a dip of tartar and mustard sauce, easy to chew and gets melting on each bite. A little bit disappointed with the Jumbo Prawn (tiny prawn in disguise uses a very thick batter to cover up) but the overall taste still delicious.
I would avoid this one in the future and stick to their Char Koay Teow or some others in their menu.
Sister's Char Koay Teow have 3 locations, one in TDDI, another Ara Damanasara, and here at USJ16. Perhaps I should give their Char Koay Teow another go in the future!
Not fantastic as I prefer the Char Koay Teow with pork lard, chinese sausage, as well as not over cooked cockles!
I am quite interested in the cocktails as well as the Porky big breakfast in the next visit OR maybe just a cuppa of Latte/Cappucino after gym session.
Overall, AM/PM is somewhere I really recommend going for its food.
Big Breakfast // RM19.90 - choice eggs (poached, scrambled, fried, sunny side-up or over-easy), citrus beef bacon, roasted wild mushrooms, sweet potatoes, spiced chicken sausage, baked tomatoes, refried beans and toast. Everything was alright but we are so into their crispy fried sweet potatoes.
Went with the basic “Best Fish & Chips in Town” and it did not disappoint. Generous portion, nicely battered, soft, flaky fish meat within and not too oily. The tartare sauce it was served with helped to cut through the grease as well. Chips were average.
Fish & Co has been offering "Buy 1 free 1" at RM$31.05 for sometime now, the actual single meal is around $25.
The newly renovated USJ16 Starbucks is at least twice the size of the previous layout.
The very sweet Toffee Latte wasn't my cup of tea.
Free cake from Starbucks! The Cake was both sweet (caramel) and salty (cheese) at the same time. Interesting!
蛋煎餅 Roti Telur is an obvious variant of the Indian origin 印度煎餅 Roti Canai (Roti Chenai or Roti Cane or Roti Prata).
I do like the dishes as well as the Teh Tarik better than "Sri Melur Jaya" across the street in USJ 17.
The Tosai is typical standard taste.
"Kapten Corner" is the creation of Mr.Azrin, a retrenched pilot behind the viral "Kapten Corner stall " in "Boom Town Cafe" in USJ11, all due to COVID-19's impact on the aviation industry.
Overall, wasn't too bad but could be better if delivered with extra sauce!
The Cafe interior includes 3 separate air-conditioning dining sections with different theme decos as well as limited outdoor seating plus a children playground!
Hussein Bistro's food prices are relatively cheaper comparing to the nearby USJ17'S Sri Melur.
The Roti Jantan is nothing more than just 2 eggs instead of one on a Roti Telur!
The restaurant is new, clean, bright, and comfortable.
Their Coconut Pudding however was just awesome. I totally loved the texture of the pudding and it was heavenly. My rating for this shall be 9/10.
Today back to try their Roti Telur, with nice thick Dhal and super spicy sambal.
the shop not only offers Pasembur but also Mee Goreng, Indian Bread and other Indian recipes.
Super strong Vietnamese Coffee and not a bad Vietnamese Paper Roll for lunch!
The beef and Hor fun was served in a beef soup which was maybe quite Vietnamese style with fresh bean sprouts and lemon on the side; also fish sauce and hoisin sauce to add flavor if desired.
For sure, I am really eager to sample the Vietnamese beef noodle, very soon.
