The Curry Kapitan with Kerabu Blue Rice was da’ bomb. Finger licking good was what it was. There were about 8 items on the plate – Kerabu rice, pickled vegetables, peanut, sambal/acar, prawn paste, potato, chicken kapitan and egg. Mixing all the ingredients together was a joy, really. It tasted awesome with plenty of flavor. The Chicken Kapitan gravy was thick and delicious. The chicken literally falls off the bone with no effort at all. The egg was fluffy and the yolk resembled that of a poached egg, it simply oozed out and provided that much needed gooeyness to the dish as a whole, like a glue that held all the items together. The Sambal and the Prawn Paste provided an ‘extra kick’ to the Kapitan gravy. The peanuts and pickled vegetables gave plenty of crunch. Overall, a truly satisfy dish that provided us with plenty of flavor and texture. I loved it. Burp!
