Bukit Bongol is a beautiful yet not too popular hiking place, located in Kota Belud. Its main attraction is the hilly and grassy terrains on the top, with great panorama views to see very far away.
Throughout my Sabah Trip On A Bike, Tegudon Tourism Village is my most favorite campsite. Campsite by the stunning river, view of the majestic Mount Kinabalu, exquisite spot for stargazing, hanging bridge to the paddy field across the river, and a hiking trail to a waterfall nearby… What more do you need!!
Mount Nungkok, was given the name ‘Anak Kinabalu’, by locals from the nearby villages. It means the ‘child of Kinabalu’, as it sits right beside the gigantic Mount Kinabalu. Mount Nungkok is less known and it cannot be seen from the touristy town of Kundasang or Kota Kinabalu.
The place for local picnic and camping, and most rent a tent due to the heat. The water current is pretty strong, probably due to rain the day before. The heat is scorching hot at 11am.
Advanced booking is required for overnight stay. The required fee is the entrance fee (RM3) for day visit and picnic, or overnight fee (RM6). You can bring your own equipment, or rent it from the campsite. A tent cost from RM10 to RM80 based on the size. Other items such as sleeping bags, air mattresses, cooking stoves, chairs and tables are available for rent. You can also book their facilities such as kitchen, open hall, and multipurpose huts. Traditional bamboo huts are available too if you do not want to sleep outdoors.

Overnight trip to some of my favourite spots in Kota Belud, Sabah in early September with friends from KL. This was back when there were still relatively few...
Since we have a long holiday in KK this time, we decided to go glamping since none of us went before in our entire life. Hence, we booked ourselves into the most reasonably priced glamping retreat in Kota Belud.
Verdict You have to come lar, at least try it once. It is really a super duper cool experience. My recommendations are to stay a night here and another night probably camp at Tegudon for stargazing experience. Alternatively, is to camp at Tembara to enjoy another beautiful sunset. Ish… banyak pulak option, macam nil ah… make sure you stay at least 5 days in Kota Kinabalu (outskirt included). Supaya tidak menyesal kemudian hari.
Overall, Mee Sup serves well as a comfort food to warm up the stomach. On a personal preference, I would prefer some green leafy vegetables to be added the bowl of noodles.
