Reasons to visit: pretty location on a private bay; pool suites are heavenly (especially the ones farthest from the building that roll out directly to the beach); don’t miss an experience at Kayuputi restaurant, a cocktail in The St. Regis Bar and an unforgettable session in Iridium Spa.
We return to Kuah, this time for a meaty delight in the form of charcoal grilled Sher Wagyu tenderloin with a marbling score 9. The Wagyu was beautifully tender, and was complemented with celery root puree, homemade chorizo stuffed solok chili, Langkawi calabasa squash, and mole local spiced sauce. My favourite dish of the evening!
Food-wise, Kayu Puti’s Asian-influenced haute cuisine leans towards East-meets-West fusion with the chefs reinventing Asian food traditions with contemporary trends and techniques.
Reasons to visit: pretty setting; attentive service; a variety of western and local dishes; steak and lobster are both excellent choices.
Reasons to visit: fabulous setting; good happy hour deals; a chance to try your hand at creating your own signature G&T; some delicious signature cocktails – my personal favourite being The 400.
Reasons to visit: beautiful views (be sure to come before the sun sets); a contemporary and quirky environment; fresh light cuisine – we especially recommend the roasted cod fish in assam pedas broth, the signature dark chocolate dessert, and the sunset cocktail for two.
Reasons to visit: St. Regis’ opulent version of nasi lemak; irresistible fried bananas and hand-pulled tea; gorgeous views.
