Bangers & Mash, 17.50 ringgit. Okay, if you guys have visited the UK, you’d most probably heard/know of Bangers & Mash. They take their bars seriously over there and this dish in particular is served in almost every bar. To find a relatively good cafe/restaurant locally that serves Bangers & Mash is kindda hard to come by. The one served here though – YUMMM ! Really good stuff. The mash potatoes were as smooth as butter and literally melts in your mouth. The chicken sausages – da bomb. Soft, meaty, chewy, tasty. I couldn’t ask for anything better.
Great Company & Good Value ~ Practically sums up my lovely evening at Golden Valley
So, one of my favourite dishes from Golden Valley is their famous chilli crabs, so imagine my delight when I heard that the crabs were available for delivery too! Priced at RM160 per kg, each crab weighs around 600g and comes with complimentary 6 pieces of mantao. It was absolutely fantastic and finger licking good; the boy loved the big meaty, sweet claws and the sauce was just as amazing as we remembered it. We loved it..best chilli crab in KL! Highly recommended!
Cakes and Bakes are the highlights of the Cafe, enjoyed the light afternoon lunch and Tim's Teapot Terrance is definitely worth another visit when opportunity arises.
In here, one can enjoy the hearty and yet generous portion of nasi lemak at only RM 5.90 with a drink. The nasi lemak comes really good where it is fragrantly done with the hint of coconut milk in it and drenched with the spicy sambal on top and sides with the egg. The rice is perfectly cooked till perfection and I love the aromatic blend of santan in it.

Food was delicious. The Pesto Pasta was awesome. I know I’ve mentioned several times that I usually like this specific version of pasta to be creamy and thick but this version served here was equally as enjoyable. It is what I’d refer to as ‘light and easy’. It was neither thick nor creamy but what it was – oily and filled with fresh basil. Every mouth you take, you’d taste it. It was different from the usual, fresh. They also provided a generous portion of chicken bits which made it all even better. It was a lovely dish. I enjoyed it.
Reasons to visit Mikro Café Melawati: a great cup of coffee; cheery community feel; very reasonably priced menu; good to see the addition of a couple of meat-free options; must try the Oliver James and the Banoffee Pie.
Parked on the corner of Lorong Kedah, the only things micro about Mikro cafe might be the size of the space and the size of the menu, but when the owners pour so much heart and soul into the concept of their food and the ethos behind it, the outcome is anything but small.
Wayback Burger has landed in Malaysia and its first outlet is located at the very convenient mall in Melawati. Apart from the many fnbs that I’ve reviewed for the recent foodieville, there is no way I would let this slide and this one is the exciting one that I was really looking forward to during the restaurant hopping session. Originated from none other than where burger consumption is comforting, this America fast casual restaurant chain based in Cheshire, Connecticut serves burgers and hotdogs, as well as milkshakes.
Wayback Burgers, one of the ‘better burger’ brands from U.S., has opened up their first outlet in Malaysia in Melawati Mall. When ‘better burger’ chains are mentioned, they usually refer to the industry leaders like Five Guys and In-N-Out Burger. These chains are supposedly a class above fast food restaurants and serve fresh to order burgers with higher quality ingredients. Overall our first experience at Wayback Burgers was a disappointing one. Even more so, considering we braved the traffic all the way from Kepong and had to deal with the mall’s horrendous parking. To be absolutely fair, the restaurant is new so maybe they still have some things to work out. But all I can really think of now is that we could have went down a few floors and eaten at Carl’s Jr instead
The latest Jamaica Blue Café at the Melawati Mall is one with serenity in a casual relaxing vibe to consistently deliver the unique identity of the brand itself. Named after the Blue Mountain in Jamaica, they take pride in the 2 types of coffee beans – the Jamaica Blue Signature Blend, and the Jamaica Blue Mountain. Both the award winning coffee and the world’s best coffee were delivered perfectly alongside the fabulous food
For a fast food chain, I am really impress with their Ayam Rendang as the spices are spot on. Not the usual typical extra spicy flavour but the mixture is well balance with fragrance of herbs and spicy is just nice. Indeed a classic dish. Chicken is soft and juicy too.
The last stop at my recent visit to the Melawati Mall is a real down-home deal, a masterful comfort food with a quality coffee brewed with single origin imported from Gayo Highland’s Acheh Indonesia. Be it the gorgeous alfresco area or its stunning rustic contemporary mix of atmosphere; don’t let this modern design deter you because it doesn’t burn a hole in your wallet. We are looking at brunch serving till 4pm and plenty of hearty and delicious dishes made to order
Dukkah Crusted Chicken, 26 ringgit. This was delicious. What you’d get is a tender chicken breast marinated with dukkah spice + sauteed potatoes and pumpkin + green peas mush. First of all, you’d notice that they do put an extra effort in term of the presentation of the dishes. Each dish had its own personal touch. The chicken was tender and packed with spice, almost similar to the ones you’d find at Kenny Rogers Roasters. The green pea mash and potatoes were awesome. I was happy with this dish.
Price : Expensive ( RM 20- RM30 per person ) Services : Average Environment : Warm & Cozy
Nasi Goreng Kampung, 14.90 ringgit. Looks simple? Do not let that fool you though. If you want a Kampung style fried rice that totally feels ‘home cooked’ , then make sure you guys give this a go. It sure is worth every penny. The dish comes with anchovies (ikan bilis) though, if you do not like em’, be sure to tell them to exclude that ingredient from your dish. Other than that, the rice comes with a side of fried egg and chicken. Both cooked the similar way most of us cook them at home, just a whole lot nicer than our perhaps, lol. The chicken is fried in its simplest form, with just the right amount of salt and spice, no flour added. Imagine the combination of all the things I mentioned, on a plate – it tasted delicious! I would totally order this on repeat.

Woo hoo... it was a night of celebration with good foods at NY Steak Shack, in conjunction with their 3rd anniversary and the opening of their 10th outlet in the brand new Melawati Mall, Ampang. Tekak orang Malaysia, memang nasi menjadi menu wajib bukan!

Reasons to visit: pretty green location; refreshing mocktails if you have a sweettooth; my favourite dish is the Parmesan Crusted Panko Chicken; excellent coffee – the house espresso blend is very good and you must give the nitro coffee a try.
Jibby东菜单涵盖和谐的泛亚洲和西方美食。
Khao Pad Thai RM9.90 Fried rice with shrimp paste, chicken, and shredded egg. I can't believe that this Fried Rice tasted so nice! I am a fan of fried rice, so when I was enjoying this dish. I can give almost full star of this fried rice, the fragrance of the fried rice was fried evenly. Not too oily or spicy, eat it with the chicken was so perfect!
这里的环境舒适,而且食物价格不贵,在Setapak想吃泰国街边小吃的话,可以来这里试一试!
