All of the hawkers stalls are now re-positioned in an "island" inside the kopitiam, and as usual no outdoor seating are allowed yet as of today.
The prawn based soup of this hawker stall was thicker, and the side chili sauce was also good. Wished thick black coffee was stronger but good enough to kick start the day!
While driving out of SS24 after breakfast, noticed a 大山脚 Bukit Mertajam Pork Noodle shop along SS24/8 across the road from the SS24 Market, maybe I will go for later this week.
The rm$11.60 "脆皮燒肉咖喱麵 Roasted Pork curry noodle" comes with quite a generous amount very good roasted pork
Highlights: non-Halal, Air-conditioned
Roasted Pork Curry Mee, 11.50 ringgit Yesssss! Really good. The noodles used were not the usual kind. Here, all their noodles are the thin version of wan tan mee. The curry was rich and thick, not too spicy. It came with an egg + 2 pieces of fuchuk + 4 tauhu + long beans + 2 large pieces of brinjal. Then, there were the generous portion of siew yok, which was very nice. The top was brown and crispy, then inside was firm and chewy. A good addition to the mee. The dish as a whole was awesome! In this case, I’d have to agree with the online reviewers, this was really good, worth every penny.
Good lighting, quite spacious, and acceptably good cleanliness; and with one entry point for the food and another door to exit from the dine-in area.
Food was good. The first plate had green sprouts + taugeh + sweet & sour pork, with no rice. The second plate had rice with steamed fish + tauhu + green. Chinese Tea and soup is free flow. By the time we were done, our plates were empty – that ought to tell you how much we enjoyed the food here.
Dining at Bottega Petaling Jaya was a flavorful experience, offering a perfect fusion of tastes and a welcoming ambience. Whether you’re an aficionado of Italian cuisine or simply seeking a memorable dining experience, Bottega Petaling Jaya in Taman Megah is a destination that delivers deliciousness.
[Non-halal] Bottega PJ is new outlet of the popular family-owned Italian deli in Bukit Bintang. This is located in Taman Megah, PJ.
If you’re looking for a good bowl of pork noodles to enjoy at home, we definitely recommend this. It’s definitely one of our favourite discoveries during the pandemic.
Overall, a worthy re-visiting some other times especially looking forward for the 鱼滑粉 Fish Paste noodles, 苦瓜面线 Pork Bitter Gourd noodles in the future.
In summary, Lao Mao Cafe is a hidden gem of Sarawak Laksa that deserves to be discovered. Whether you’re a Sarawak Laksa connoisseur or simply someone looking for a comforting meal, this cafe should be on your must-visit list. It’s a true culinary delight that will leave you craving another visit to this hidden treasure in the heart of Megah Rise Mall. Don’t let it remain a secret for long!
Lovely people and lovely food – do check out Lao Mao Café when you’re in the area. Lao Mao Café also serves nasi lemak, Taiwanese-style beef noodles, as well as pastries such as sordough bread, scones and cheee tarts.
Picked 3 types of sashimi from Top Catch Fisheries: salmon, tuna and yellow tail (hamachi). The fishes were fresh, shiny and extra tempting.
Here's the location.
What do We Like about Restoran Yat Yat Seng, Megah Rise? -Many choices of local cuisines -The ‘One and Only Pickled Fish Slices’ is probably the reason we will be going back for more
Each mini tart costs MYR 1.70 nett so 5 mini tarts cost MYR 8.50 nett. They are tasty so will buy them again when I am in the area.
Since its primarily a bakery, I probably should have opted for pastries for breakfast instead of Nasi Lemak! Not that the Nasi Lemak not tasty, in fact the very coconuty flavored Curry Chicken was quite nice; but including Teh Tarik its about rm$20!
For the choice today, especially enjoyed the "金瓜快樂餅 Kabocha Korokke", a deep fried pumpkin dessert with a mixed sweet and savory sauce!
My order - mushroom chicken wanton noodles at MYR 11.80 nett. The chicken broth is tasty but a bit too salty.
We had the Burnt cheesecake and Lemon meringue pie, both were pretty decent. Wish we had more space to try their other cakes, maybe next time!
Awesome crab dishes at Pangkor Village Seafood, Taman Megah
Oooo man, food was good. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting the chicken rice to be that good but it was. The steamed chicken was perfect. We requested for chicken breast because that’s where all the meat is, right? They delivered it. Each piece was tender and juicy. Having the chicken nicely drenched in ketchup with the rice and chili/ginger gravy was delicious. Loved it.
Overall, we think Staple Dough needs a bit more time to fine-tune its offerings and improve its dishes. We understand that Staple Dough is a fresh venture for its first-time restauranteurs, and appreciate the explanation and attentive service from the staff. We also liked that they were open to feedback, as they looked to improve their menu for the future.
What do We Like about Oomph Megah Rise? -Spacious and comfortable environment -Wide variety of western foods and cakes for selection
Oh ya, must TRY is of course their signature Spicy Mala Pork. The pork is perfectly an indulgence with the spicy sensation and every mouthful is so indulging and perfect.
It is not without reason why Restoran Gembira is one of the more popular coffee shops in Taman Megah. Definitely do check out the stalls here if you’re looking for something delicious, with generous portions that are value for your money.
Today's breakfast is Ipoh style beehoon dry curry noodle with siew yoke, not bad!
I probably should also make another long overdue visit to Key Hiong Dim Sum tomorrow morning, which is located along the same row of shop as Restoran Gembira!
MYR 8 nett. No sugar in the drink for me at all so the tea was a bit bitter. I chose mutton curry as the meat and kept half of it and half portion of the rice for another day. I like the spicy pumpkin dish which is not that spicy. The cabbage dish was ok with a tiny bit of off taste but I finished it.
The taste was rather bland and the curry was so light, not much of spices used or lack of seasoning.
MyBanana also does roti with a porky twist, ie their new Roti bacon cheese. Highly recommended - the roti was crisp with melting, oozy cheese and bacon bits in the centre. Simply awesome, I think I've found my new favorite roti!
What do We Like about Naj and Belle, Megah Rise? -The breakfasts were delicious as the dishes were using some time consuming ingredients such as the salmon belly panko cake and the pulled beef brisket -Cosy environment
For those who frequently travel along LDP, you should notice a rojak and cendol truck parked at the side of the road leading into Taman Megah. Judging by the number of customers I have seen camping there, its popularity can certainly match Cendol & Rojak Mustaffa in Section 17. Despite knowing its existence for years, it was only until the last weekend that we decided to give it a try.
