当天我们点了不少小笼包，但还没回过神来桌上的小笼包全都不见了！幸好Jennifer夹了个蟹粉小笼包到我的盘子上，谢谢珍妮花！蟹粉小笼包有一股浓郁的海鲜味，个人比较喜欢传统的猪肉内馅，喜欢吃螃蟹的朋友可以试试这道。干贝蟹王汤包一上桌时整个就是震撼，那么大的一个汤包我还真是第一次看到呢！干贝蟹王汤包里面的馅料不多（有一些蟹肉和干贝），重点是要喝那鲜甜营养的精华汤汁！喝了感觉就很养生，海鲜风味满分！

I like 江豐肉骨茶's take on Shoon Huat's savoury sweet herbal style of JB BKT.
Shoon Huat Bak Kut Teh has many branched in JB, but the main original store is where we are today. Choosing a variety of parts to put in our Claypot, the Bak Kut Teh has a clear soup, but the taste was lightly herbal and strong. A nice light taste which was delightful.
Nice food, good efficient service, reasonable pricing. A good Korean BBQ option in JB.
Grand Seafood at Stellar Walk is Johor Bahru's newest seafood restaurant.
Permas Jaya Shi Wah bak kut teh is a good place in JB to taste brothy Johor style BKT with savoury herbal soup and very fresh pork.
A Kulai Sze Hwa style bak kut teh shop popular with JB folk. The broth leans on savoury (salty) with subtle herbal notes. The fresh tender meat is slightly firm.
The restaurant is clean and comfortable, ingredients are sufficiently fresh, prices are reasonable, and tastes are tuned to local palates without losing its essential Thai flavours (e.g. the sharp spiciness toned down slightly).
Overall, the dishes were flavourful and flavours were well balanced. The food were not overly sweet or salty, nor too greasy. Everything tasted just nice and ingredients were fresh.

When you crave for KL style wanton mee like I often do, Yap Ki Street wanton mee stall in Permas Jaya in JB can save you the trip to Kuala Lumpur.
We were totally filled and felt the pricing is reasonable for the amount of food and comfortable environment.
Admittedly, I frequent Johore Bahru quite often. And it came as a surprise when I told some friends and colleagues I was thinking of going to this seafood restaurant known as Todak, and many were aware of this place for the longest time!

I was delighted with Ah Koong's mee pok noodles. I was surprised actually. One of the reasons why I haven't been back to Ah Koong for a decade was because the generic noodles tended to be overcooked and the sauce tasted flat.
Ah Koong Fishball was a regular stopover. My dad and the kids like the comfortable environment and the fried fish cake.
I would’t say it was a letdown, but I felt that it was run-of-the-mill and not really worth the calories.

Food aside, the interior of the restaurant is unique and delightful. It's just warm, welcoming and yet classy. Great for both family and friends.
Total bill was RM97.90 ~S$32.63 inclusive of 10% service charge.I would say there are hits and misses in terms of the food quality and price. Anyway, taste is based on individual preference. But one thing for sure, this place is quite attractive in terms of their interior space and the location.
