Have been visiting Loong Fatt for decades, and they have been consistently good. Will keep returning to enjoy these favourite snack of mine, no doubt.
Unlike Malaysia Tau Sar Piah, Singapore version is crisp and flaky with the saltiness in it that balance off the sweet fillings.
It is a delectable snack to enjoy it anytime any day.
This is still one of the better choices for Lor Mee, my kind of comfort food.
A great alternative to the OAR stall where the waiting time is considerably shorter. Prices are slightly higher for this casual restaurant as compared to the hawker stall, with a pleasant air-conditioned dining environment which I am not complaining.
It’s almost no surprise given its Michelin plate accolade as well as storied history—it being run by a second-generation owner who started assisting in running the business since he was 13 years old.
8 reviews of Tandoori Corner North Indian Curry House "Terrific tandoori and naan, try the lamb chops if you have any taste buds at all. They'll blow you away. I'm pretty close to Little India but the food here is good enough that I usually end up…
G went for Mutton Kebab - 14.90$ for 4 pieces. He enjoyed it a lot. Second best he had in Singapore he said (the best being at Usman's)
Ambiance: 6.5/10 Food: 7.5/10 Value: 7.5/10 Overall: Definitely would not mind coming back again to try other dishes!
I finally got around to trying this bánh mì shop (279 Balestier Road #01-02, 6993-9855). I seem to recall having a much better impression of Viet 9, especially since this one was a little sweet with that floss on top. But this really wasn't a very valid comparison, and I still ate it all with that light and airy bread. The nice thing about this shop is that it is open until 2 AM.
My mom enjoys walking as much as I do and didn’t bat an eyelid when I suggested walking down the almost 1.5 kilometer stretch of Balestier R...

Overall, Cafe De Hong Kong is here to bring your traditional Hong Kong cuisine. The food is delicious and comforting, but don't expect five-star restaurant standard. Definitely, a must try place if you are looking for Authentic Hong Kong Cuisine. Cheers!!
On the menu, there are several singular dishes perfect for lunch.
While I am not totally convinced with all the raves that they are getting, Cafe De Hong Kong is probably an option to consider for dinner if you are in the Balestier area.
Yes, for their variety of Tau Sar Piah which are freshly baked daily! And no, do not take 603 as an alternative to Loong Fatt, the latter got really popular in recent years no thanks to social media, but 603 has much to offer too!
Hong Kong Street Chun Tat Kee is famed for its fish head beehoon. They not only just sell fish head beehoon but also other tze char dishes.
I like the idea of The Experiential Culinary Concept, creating a whole new world of dinning possibilities coupled with thrilling experiences and surprises too. It is certainly worth partaking at one of the session.
5 reviews of Monniker "I came here to meet up with some Yelp peeps and I am so so glad I did: not only I got to meet some awesome people, it was the BEST coffee I had until now in Singapore! I must admit: I am not a big coffee connoisseur: I am a…
Very full and deep flavours, with a solid sticky braising sauce and vinegar, garlic and chilli coming together to make a symphony with the soft flat yellow noodles.
Though Balestier Food Centre is open 24/7, New Shop Spinach Soup only operates from 11am to 10pm daily.
The Thai Tea Crepe Cake was nicely and delicately layered, lightly creamy, rich and fragrant with the flavour of Thai Iced Tea. Not bad.
The chicken burger mishap aside, my experience there was rather enjoyable thanks to the friendly staff who came by to share with us more about their menu! You will definitely see me back here again to try the gelato!
There are a number of famous Bak Kut Teh in Balestier but among those big players, do not miss out this Teochew style BKT in the coffeeshop.
Their Lemon Tart is also a personal favorite; that crunchy buttery tart walls welling a smooth, zesty curd that was cool to my lips.
The stock was light, sweet and serviceable, a Singaporean-style pork-bone sweetened soup, slightly above average. The prawns were fresh and flavourful. Not bad, but not something I would specially go back for.
Overall, we were impressed with flavour-focused menu at Viio Gastropub, with the lunch set deals being an extremely worthy deal especially for people working around the area on the weekdays.
I guess the main draw of this buffet (for me) is that I get to eat so many things that I used to eat during my childhood - pre-becoming-too-health-conscious - most of which I didn't know I'd enjoyed.
If budget is not a concern for you, the vegetarian buffet is quite an experience as there are not many vegetarian buffets in Singapore. Come with an empty stomach and you will be rewarded.
As for the Steamboat Buffet @ S$19.80++ which only served on weekday (Mon-Thur). You get to taste some Dimsum, salad, Japanese sushi, dessert etc. Quite a good buffet spread!
We returned to Tunglok Teahouse to try some Dim Sum and enjoy ourselves. It’s not Dim Sum without Har Gow, Siew Mai, Xiao Long Bao and Spinach Dumplings. All fresh and well done.
My son loves automated serving, like a robot or the conveyors at Sushiro, so we took him to Tung Lok Teahouse in Novena – he loved it. Crispy Roll with Prawn Chang Fun was nice and crispy and…
The price is very reasonable for what you get. It’s just $26.80++ per adult, and $16.80++ per child from Mondays to Thursdays, and $28.80++ per adult, and $18.80++ per child from Fridays to Sundays, as well as public holidays.
In my memory of Pek Kio hawker centre, the most famous stall had to be the prawn noodle (soup) manned by a no-nonsense auntie but in my rece...
Michelin Guide Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun. If you are in Pek Kio Market & Food Centre, you will notice the few stalls that will alway have a continuous stream of queue in front of their stall and Pin Wei Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun is just one of them.
Pin Wei is selling Hong Kong Style Chee Cheong Fun that is freshly made on the spot in front of the customers' eyes.
