I have fond memories of Thomson Plaza ; from the Old Yaohan department store, the KFC outlet that served fried chicken on porcelain plates w...
The uni and prawn were creamy and rich, although the uni was just slightly fishy and metallic. The various fish tasted strangely uniform though, and didn’t have much of their own flavour. The toro was even a bit mushy. Odd that this was so popular.
Valuable & Affordable Japanese Food Dining. If you love value for money bowls of Chirashi, you can head to Omote at level 3 of Thomson Plaza. Reservation in advance will be advisable if you want to skip the long snaky queue of being "Walk-in" customers. I tried calling in a few times to reserve but there was not much luck several times but luckily after a few tries in weeks, I manage to get myself and my friends a table.
The crab omelette was generously filled with fresh crab, which was really sweet, tender and qq. The eggs was fluffy inside and had a bit of a char outside, although slightly greasy. The most premium crab omelette I have eaten so far, but without any crispiness on the outside.
Authentic and homely Thai Food at Upper Thomson Road not to be missed.
Since we can’t pop over to the streets of Bangkok now, this is in fact one of the best that I can find now.
It's a fact that I am seldom impressed with cafe food so when a friend suggested dinner at Columbus Coffee Co; I was hesitant yet didn't want to sound rude. To me, what's the worst that could happen, except to prove my point?
With the experience of both Atlas and Lunar that are success, we are sure Columbus Coffee Co will be another impressive cafe though we also feel that some of the food there are rooms for improvement. Coffee without doubt continues to be excellent.
We were also pretty satisfied with how the dishes tastes while pushing the boundaries of cafe fare with innovative and creative use of ingredients that are well thought out.

Surprised myself with my recent trip to Nam Kee. Will be returning again for its comforting food, and glad that little has changed since.
The food's not bad, the meat's fine, tender with some soy seasoning. The rice could be better but the soup's not bad even though some might find it oily.
The spiciness is also customizable up to 3 levels so non-spicy eaters can enjoy this too.
Continuing my adventures at Upper Thomson road, here's tom yum mama!!
Overall, I was impressed by the quality and taste of the food given their prices.
A good brunch menu & very good crafted coffee make Habitat Coffee @ King George’s Ave one of the best cafes to visit in the Lavender area.
They're super famous as I was put on their waiting list when I was there on a weekend afternoon. The place is cramped and small but their food was awesome! This is really a place for you to dine and go and not a place for you to chill and relax as it's noisy!
Review of brunch at Habitat Coffee cafe along Upper Thomson Road Singapore with pictures of menu, restaurant and food ....
The meat ball was really a fish meat ball – it had a very good flavour and slight springiness, together with a nice uneven handmade texture. Everything else, including the her giao and fishcake were standard.
Thankfully, the two aunties manning the kitchen were fast workers and I got my food — with all ingredients accounted for — in less than ten minutes.
Jing Ji is a nice place for fish ball noodles that is good in every department - noodle, sauce, fish ball, liver and the savoury sweet soup too.
Very complex and layered braising sauce, with slight sweetness and savouriness and fragrance from various spices. The duck was quite tender and the skin gelatinous, both with some bite. Interesting plate.
Don’t even doubt it, you will definitely see me joining the queue again for some Seng Huat Duck Rice.
Overall, Seng Huat Duck Rice serves up a great tasting plate of duck rice, which is also extremely value for money!
With the standard of food, I will like to be back again for other items on the menu.
This is a seasonal special which was available when we visited the cafe. We love the distinct layers of matcha, chocolate and wafer which came with great textures and taste.

While Woodlands Sourdough no longer serves up its delightful sandwiches and sourdough loaves, they are still pretty much consistent in terms of quality.
Another sourdough bakery you absolutely need to try is Starter Lab, which hails from Bali. The sandwiches there are a little pricier but well worth your money.
Experience overall was pleasant, and I do not mind making another trip down for Taiwanese Cuisine.
If you really miss Taiwan and you’re on a budget, this is the place to visit.
The dishes are as delicious as they are pretty. Everything we had was scrumptious.
Definitely prefer the duck confit hash, even though the roasted potatoes tip the scale slightly.
food was consistently good, and i have no doubt that we'll be back soon.
SOD Cafe in Upper Thomson Road
Their menu has also expanded to include more outlet-exclusive items.
The combination somehow lacked of the “wow” factor I had remembered fondly years back.
The food is good but not as shiok as I remember when I tasted it years ago at Jalan Besar. Hopefully, its just because the woks are not yet seasoned. Still, it’s a good place if you are looking for something that you can quickly guzzle down to hit that hunger spot.
I quite like the food at Peperoni Pizzeria. Moreover, in terms of cost, the price is NETT which means that there is no service charge!
We had the Bak Chor Mee with extra fu zhou fish balls and fried fish cakes.
We hardly say this, but it is a definite yes. No frills offerings at Rubicon, with quality Japanese Hokkaido Beef at a reasonable price.
A family and kid friendly place, Molten Diners is designed counter-style where you line-up to a cashier to order and pay.
Quite a mild slightly fragrant laksa, going down easily and pairing well with the spicy firm otah from Lai Heng Char Kway Teow at the same food centre.
Tony and Karen have been selling Katong laksa for 20 years
This is going to be one of my favorite stalls in this food centre that I will be patronizing regularly and this is one of the stalls that remain open during the evening.
I promise you’ll be like us, planning for a return visit after you’ve tried their dishes.
