I think the grilled meats goes well with the Arabic Minted Tea, nice!
I ordered the Hummus for a familiar taste, but I will try the other appetizers next time.
I'm very glad that LC introduced me to Oregi. I now have a favorite middle eastern restaurant after the one near my place shut down. I would love to try the pasta dishes here as well - it comes in 3 sizes ranging from small to large with the most expensive only costing RM23.90! Now that's worth the money.
Kebab pun nampak menarik. Nasi pun sama. Nak tenang2, boleh bersila. Tapi aku dah penat bersila makan kat bawah. Dok atas jela... Air pulak. MF order Habbatus Sauda. Dia kata boleh tahan. Surau pun ada disediakan. Sesuai untuk majlis gathering dan family bonding.
And kambing dia seriouly lembuttt sangat! And sedap of course :') Ayam dia pun sedap jugak, ada bau smokey maybe sebab dia ada wapkan dengan kayu arang kut. Whatever lah, tapi yang penting memang sedap. Uwaaa..nana dah terbayang-bayang dah ni. Husband balik rumah esok memang nak kena ajak dia gi cari Nasi Arab Damsyik nih hee!
ayam... kambing... fillet ikan semuanya sedap. kena dgn masakannya. air habbatus sauda yg manis-manis tambah lagi kepuasan hati kita makan di sini. memang sesuai lah kalau sesekali nak belanja parents, adik-beradik or ofismet kat sini. suasana nya sgt best.
I chose Chicken Shawarma Plate, four pieces of something that looked like Samosa filled with minced meat, Falafel with Humus and Beef Pizza. And I guess I had overeaten my late lunch with all that was put on the table.
Nanti lain kali nak makan set dulanglah, lagi jimat kot, hihi.
I memang dah jatuh hati dengan pizza sentuhan negara timur tengah, pizza dari restoran arabian. Lagi sedap dari biasa weyyyy... tak tau la macam kemaruk pulak hahaha!
Lamb Madghut for 4 pax (RM70).
I like the Kubba or "Kibbeh", which is a Levantine (Eastern Mediterranean) dish made of bulgur (Cereal food made from whole wheat), minced onions, and finely ground lean beef, lamb, goat, or camel meat with Middle Eastern spices.
Sedap dan menyelerakan. One of the best Arabian Food in town ! Makanan sedap. 2. Harga berpatutan. 3. Pekerja ramai tapi expect service slow jugak kalau ramai orang. 4. Parking mencukupi. 5. Ambiance kedai menarik dan tak stuffy.
The Kabsah Lamb wasn't as tender as I expected of and a little bit dry.
The Lamb Kabsa here at D'Arab Cafe tasted really good, meat was tender and tasty; interestingly the dish was accompanied with a sauce which is called "arabic tomato sauce" or "salata" as a dip for the lamb kabsah.
Alhamdulillah anak-anak pon suka!! Mungkin nasi disertakan sekali dengan kuah sup so ala-ala nasi daging gitu..Kalau ada chicken kanshah konpem diorang cakap nasi ayam:P LOL Tapi nasi arab ni kalau mula-mula makan memang rasa sedap tapi lama-lama akan muak..bagi aku ler..kalau korang tak tahulah camne kan..
After falling in love with Chef Ammar's famous lamb shank a few months back, we've returned to dine-in at Restoran Chef Ammar USJ 4 and explore other amazing middle eastern dishes that they serve. All these dishes were personally hand-picked by Chef Ammar himself many of which we're trying for our very first time. Needless to say, we had a mind blowing middle eastern feast!
This is one of the most epic meals we've had in weeks. Chef Ammar serves Middle Eastern cuisine and specialises in Mandi Rice and Lamb Shank. The King Lamb Shank is one of their popular dishes served in the restaurant. Looking at tons of great reviews and recommendation by one of our friend, we just had to try the Lamb Shank at Chef Ammar for ourselves.
The place is clean and air-conditioned, although you will have to walk past the heats of the skewered meat at the entrance before entering the cafe.
Here's the location.
Lebanon is a modern contemporary restaurant that serves an interesting spread of Arabic cuisine. The casual fine dining restaurant opened in 2000 was located along Jalan Batu Ferringhi, Penang before moving to Tanjung Bungah.
Harga pun berpatutan. Servis slow sikit kalau time ramai orang. Bertabah lah !
Chicken Mandy (half chicken), 26 ringgit This was da bomb! It was very good. Oooo man, I got to start with the chicken. The reason I ordered half a chicken rather than the other available option – Quater, was because based on my experience with many other eateries, most of the time, the chicken pieces offered are usually little or smaller in size. So, just to be on the safe side, I opted for half a chicken. When it arrived though, Wowza! when these folks say ‘half a chicken’ then they would deliver exactly that because it literally was a whole piece of half a chicken. Then, when I started cutting into it – the meat was sooooooo tender that it literally fell of the bone. There was no hardship at all, no having to ‘fight’ and ‘wrestle’ with the meat to break it apart. It tasted equally as awesome. There wasn’t as much flavor on the meat as it did on the rice but whatever flavor there was + plus the naturally feel of being baked – simply awesome! Having the chicken with the rice though …. heavenly. That is all there is to say 🙂
Beef Stroganoff (MYR 35) Beef strips smothered with creamy sauce and served with rotini pasta or optional rice. This Russian inspired plate comes with decent mushroom cream sauce that is just nice to give you the flavour without overcloying, to be paired with the sliced beef, which I feel will be nicer if the meat were much tender- that would be perfect.

Lamb kebab (RM56) - well-spiced, tender chunks of lamb meat served with bread and chips. One of our favourite dishes here.
It is suitable for all MUSLIM friends.
Reasons to visit: a chance to try the not-so-commonly-found-in-Malaysia Yemeni cuisine; don’t miss the Mullawah and Rateeb breads, Lamb Soup, the Saltah, and be sure to order Kunafe for dessert!
Try Yemeni cuisine at least once and you will be surprise at how good the cuisine is. Al Nafoura is a great choice to try the cuisine as the Rahim has really nailed the flavours well. Dishes are affordable and prepared very well. Al Nafoura also does catering for private parties. It may be my first time trying Yemeni cuisine but it will certainly not be my last as Al Nafoura has really left a delicious experience of Yemeni cuisine for me.
The Chicken Mandi is basically a traditional Yemeni dish. This dish, I enjoyed because it was rather similar to the local indian briyani I indulge in from time to time. A lil dryer perhaps but similar in terms of the spices used and its taste. The long grain rice was flavorful and the big piece of juicy chicken thigh was awesome. Tender and moist it was, the meat literally falls off with ease as you cut into it. The dish comes with a side of vegetable soup and tomato gravy. A yummy dish overall.
Overall, the food was a bit worse than its near neighbour, except for the fasolya, and staff were fine, if not exactly professional. However, when we left I noted to my wife that I didn’t fancy returning, because the place felt grimy. For some reason, they leave empty plates on the table for you to use, which had quite a lot of dirt on and which we had changed. Dirt and dust fell from the overhead fan too, and underneath the table it was oily. She agreed, noting she was worried about the kitchen (I assume they’ve got an acceptable hygiene rating from the inspectors, though). Just felt a little dirty.
Their Mixed Grill usually comes with Beef too and so if you're one who does not eat Beef, do let them know and they would substitute it with more Chicken. I felt that these were really good and they came with some French Fries and Arabic Bread. The bread was so soft and nice and both the Lamb and Chicken were heavenly. I would definitely rate this at 9/10.
Arab restaurant serving aromatic nasi briyani with tendering chicken or lamb pack with Iranian spices
Harga wise tak pasti sebab orang belanja tapi rasanya reasonable jugak la.
After reading PH's post about the delicious lamb, I quickly "ajak" my friend who likes to eat lamb too to check out the place. The above is what we ordered. We kept half of each dish for dinner. The lamb was tender and tasty just like PH has described it to be. A big thank you to PH for introducing this place.
