Hello there! I get so annoyed about what to say in the opening, you know the opening speech is the most important part to attract readers to continue reading ...
The wave of boutique café has not only swept over the metropolitan of KL, but has also invaded into the radars of urbanites residing in the Pearl of Orient. China House (which most of the time, I tend to accidentally enunciate it as White House-US, lol), is one of the several brands that has sprung up lately, occupying a three-linked compound, at the heritage-rich locale of Beach Street.
Unlike the street art in Penang, the version in kluang was concentrated along this one, long street. Some are just boring wall paintings although there are those with 3D elements for that more interesting photo taking.
After cleaning up the backlane and upgrading the infrastructure, volunteers and artists were given free rein to decorate the rear walls of the shop houses with fun art. While probably not to the level of acclaim given to some of the street murals in George Town, it is still an interesting walk along the lane to look at the creativity of some of the art.
Ada lebih kurang 3 blok bangunan di laluan belakang kedai 2 tingkat. Dinding belakang kedai tersebut dipenuhi oleh lukisan lukisan menarik.
To make it more interactive, there are fun quizzes that you can take. Try your hand at trading stocks, or managing the economy using interest rates. (Failed at both and caused the economies to crash. Welp.) There is also a section where you can spin blocks and compare how inflation has caused prices of goods to increase over the years.
We were up in Ipoh for some cycling and on the second afternoon went riding along the Kinta River. To kick of the ride we went on a short loop at Ipoh Mrual Street. This is a back-alley that runs parallel to Jalan Masjid; between Jalan Laxamana & Jalan Datuk Onn Jaafar. A good landmark will be the beautifully unique Masjid Panglima Kinta, where there are ample parking.
What’s a charming little Malaysian city without street art? Following in the footsteps of Penang and Melaka, Ipoh is similarly decorated with colourful scenes on the sides of random buildings, sprucing up otherwise dull and crumbling walls.
As I return to the gallery, I’ll update this with more pictures of other exhibitions. Ilham tower is only 10 minutes’ walk (or one LRT stop) away from KLCC, so it’s well worth popping in to see what they have on display. The gift shop also has a load of nice locally-made souvenirs, so worth a visit for that. Note it’s closed on Mondays and public holidays.
Ilham Gallery is a great place to soak in arts and culture, and to learn more about the colourful contemporary art scene in Malaysia. Entrance is free.
The last part of the museum was more impressive as the wall arts were so large and as high as 2 floors. Well, I will not elaborate further on how amazing is this place. You should come yourself to see it :)
Surfing! As the name 3D suggests, the one over hundred pictures / paintings would result in an interactive experience that can be extremely fun if you have friends / family members who are spontaneous, full of expression and not shy!
The Italian Ministry of Foreign Embassy has brought Leonardo da Vinci to Malaysians at the National Art Gallery, where you can see true-to-size, digital reproductions on display until 15 August 2019. The “Leonardo Opera Omnia” exhibition features 17 of Leonardo’s art works painted in the 1ate 15th to early 16th centuries, as well as a special exhibition based on one of notebooks, Codex on the Flight of Birds
Running until March 17 is The Wall: Dinding Bandar, featuring a collection of graffiti works by 26 local artists captured on social media from years 2015 – 2018, and reproduced for the exhibition. It looks at the evolving styles, methods and development of the genre, as well as its potential in the creative arts industry and society at large. Malaysian graffiti artists are pretty well known in their field – we have artists like Kenji Chai and Cloakwork, both of whom have international fanbases and have collaborated with well known brands the likes of Hypebeast and Skechers. In KL itself, it is not uncommon to see graffiti on the side of buildings, providing a platform and space for its artists to channel visual expressions.
That said, I must note that perhaps the original Telibong version is much better, and maybe I will get to find out in future. However, on the basis of KL’s I will struggle to persuade my wife to come along!
Penang 3D Trick Art Museum which is located at Lebuh Penang in Penang Island is an interactive museum which allow visitors to pose or to strike a crazy and unique pose with all the 3D Art in the Museum.
The safari of Klang, a really beautiful and interesting wall mural in a backlane.
The multi-coloured arches of the pre-war colonial shop-houses are attractive too! So don't go to Klang for it's renown Bak Kut Teh, come here and appreciate the art too.
怡保二奶巷 (The Concubine Lane a.k.a. Lorong Panglima) 是每个人来到怡保必去的旅游景点之一
要不是我们吃得非常饱, 我肯定会来光顾他们家的, 只是为了他们家的装潢斗值回票价了~
With the surge in local tourism after lock-downs arising from the Covid-19 pandemic, local towns have been spruced themselves up to attract the tourists. Some, colorful murals have popped up at the KKB, at the older part of town still looking colonial with it's few streets of colonial shop-houses.
The art scene in Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley is getting more interesting with this new Art Street @ Campbell right in the older commercial heart of the city. These murals were probably painted in the past two months.
Love this street more than concubine lane, with less crowd, less commercial and more art.
SEGAR City however has expanded its township towards leisure and entertainment and with that, they own and operate the 3D Alive Art Gallery, Segar Recreation Park and Wild West Cowboy Indoor Theme Park…
