Yup…it’s been a while since we said hello to our first customer waaaay back in 1996 in Mont Kiara. We speak the language of happiness through our SO Lip Smacking Food and Thirst Quenching Drinks which have become legendary. Couple that with great service, a friendly ambience and theme parties of mythical proportions, SOULed OUT is THE place for friends and family to hob nob and just feel at home. Now in Ampang and Bangsar South, the name of the game here is as good as a hug!

My favourite dish of the night, Kake Udon (RM21), a hearty broth with udon, and that every important runny egg. Definitely I'd reorder this.

Malas- supposedly spelled as Malaysian Tapas but makes a lousy portmanteau when named Malas. If it isn’t obvious enough that it actually meant lazy in bahasa, well then one could easily identify that and see it in their operating staffs because they are definitely living up to the name of this place for sure. The service crew seriously need a massive encouragement (when we are the only customer) to get them paying more attention to the customers; let alone requesting them to walk over to our table. Dainty choices are there on the menu to spoilt the customers but if Malas were to be judged solely on this alone, it would be a breakthrough for local flavour for sure. Though very unfortunately, the rest of the dining experience left it a few pegs short.

Chicken Vindaloo with Rice, 12.90 ringgit. This was yummmm! Different but yummy. What you’d get on the plate is rice + half a thigh with gravy + papadum + cucumber. I loved the chicken and the gravy, loved it a lot that I had to request for extra gravy, lol. Yea, I am one of those who enjoys the ‘banjir’ effect, making sure every bit of rice has gravy on it. Good stuff, yawww. The, there were the papadums. Let me tell you, the crackers that accompanied the noodles were bad enough, now this, the papadums, was worst. I just do not get it – if it is soo bad, why put it on the plate? It had no crunchiness whatsoever, it felt a lil bit like how it was suppose to be prior to getting fried. Now this, I had to request for replacement because I love them papadums, which they did. The new ones were as they should be, crunchy. So yea, minus the papadum blunder, the rest of the dish was yummy. Loved it.

On a side note, some of the dishes that I find extraordinarily palatable include: Roasted Beef, Ikan Bakar (Ikan Pari), Grilled Prawns, Chicken Curry Laksa, Satay, Rojak, Keropok, and Ice Kacang.

Gruyere cheese souffle in cast iron pan, served with walnut, raisin, petite salad & truffle dressing. Twice baked so you get a thin, lightly crisp top layer contrasting by jiggly fluffy, cotton soft cheesy souffle beneath. We love this so much! Highly recommended real good stuff!
