My favorite dish here at Tapas Club is the Arroz Negro (RM78), the squid ink paella with clams, fish and squid. The paella here is literally perfection; made with bomba rice, lovingly stirred with seafood stock for 20 minutes and a final blast of heat to create the essential soccarat (ie crust) at the bottom of the pan that a good paella must possess.

Taste:8/10(Good. The lunch set food overall is good but not outstanding. Food presentation were good. The fried fish is a bit dry in the sweet fish bun and the taste is mostly enhanced by mayonnaise. The steamed bun however were perfect as its soft and light. The Yuzukosho tamarind chicken main dish was slightly overcooked and caused the meat to be a bit harder. Taste wise, the chicken is good. I like the dessert of lychee, mango and panna cotta. The dessert mixture taste were well executed and refreshing).

The Tiger Prawn Roulade is the perfect example of head to tail eating, utilising every part of the prawn including its head and shell. Drawing inspiration from yong tau foo, the roulade is made with locally sourced prawns; with minced and diced prawns and chestnuts for added texture. The shells are used to make the aioli which the deep fried prawn head sits on. Pickled torch ginger flower and pickled radish complete this delightful dish. One of my favorites from the new menu!

Chicken @ RM 45, add on with bentong ginger and lotus crips. As for this dish, I have no idea what to say as for us being local, we had too much street food and I felt that I am just eating “atas” Hainanese Chicken. not much twist of it. Too normal for my liking even knowing the meat is sous vide.

Pisco Bar Restaurant

29 Jalan Mesui Bukit Bintang 50200 Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

By visiting Pisco Bar you will be able to taste today what the rest of the world will be eating tomorrow. Today, Peruvian cuisine has two main icons in the world. The first one is certainly Cebiche. The second, which you may already know, is undoubtedly Pisco Sour. But what is new about Pisco Bar, though, is the approach to Peruvian cuisine, as it recognizes its influences and proposes a significant variety of some of the most succulent Spanish tapas. Peruvian cuisine has been praised by the Spanish superstar Ferran Adrià and is quickly finding its rightful place in the world food scene. Peruvian cuisine, as with Malaysian food, is a unique blend of indigenous and colonial cookery traditions. With influences from Andean to Spanish, Japanese and Chinese to African and Italian.

With the newer vintages starting at only RM 390 per bottle, it’s a great investment. Though the service wasn't poor, it wasn't very attentive. Though the food wasn't half bad, it didn't deliver in every aspect. Though prices were reasonable, they weren't matched by portion sizes. Even with a starter and a main each, you'd still come out not fully satiated as portions just weren't hearty enough (in the end, we had to go elsewhere to get something to snack on). With food taste that didn't impress enough, coupled with smallish portions for the price paid and where service could be better, it came down to just little things that weren't done right that makes me wonder if I'd ever return to This Establishment! :'(
