The ramen noodle of SoloMen deserves a special mention as it was perfectly done. The ramen texture was al-dente, springy and firm
My order: ChaHan set (fried rice) with miso soup, 3 gyoza and a cup of hot green tea at MYR 13.70 nett. I kept half the rice and two gyoza for dinner and finished drinking all the miso soup and hot green tea.
Earl Grey Mojito RM7.90 This drink also came highly recommended by the barista and I can clearly see why. This alcohol-free drink is absolutely refreshing! The earl grey tea added a crisp flavour to the traditional mojito! Underneath the minty citrus blend, the drink ended with a creamy base note of early grey which lingers for a bit. Quite an interesting adventure for the taste bud, but definitely a good one.
Rum and raisins cheese cake of Rekindle is the reason we keep going back for more 🙂 Ever since discovering and trying out their alcoholic cake in Rekindle, we regularly went back for their cake (especially the alcoholic one) and for the ambience, but too bad we are unable to dine in for the moment.
Rekindle SS2 comes in mind for most residents of PJ who lives near SS2 or the surroundings, probably because of its cosy ambience and most importantly, myriad of cakes there with unique flavours like even alcohol inside which are reasonably-priced.
This is a nice little cafe with cozy seating areas inside and interestingly coverted "sewing machines" as coffee tables in the outdoor seating area.
I like the pastries and cake here, indeed a nice neighbourhood cafe/bakery.
The small little Café with limited seats does offer free drinking water, but still quite cozy while it is not crowded especially for and early morning breakfast (as early as 8:30am) and perhaps afternoon Tea Time for its sweet and savory treats along perhaps with a cup of coffee, tea or even a 莫吉托 mojito!
After ordering, they reheated it before serving. This made the filling all warm and oozing as you cut to the middle of it. No clumpy bits, flavors were good. I can most certainly understand now why people were willing to go to lengths just for it. Fortunately for me, I'm always a little late to the game so no queuing required now.
What do We Like about Ipoh Ipoh SS 2? -We like the chee cheong fun’s sauce and the tomato soup base
Overall, we recommend the hor fun here as the noodles are probably the best in town, with soup that is perfectly balanced in sweetness and umami. The quality was consistent too during our two visits.
My portion of kai see hor fun. The broth is thick and flavourful.
Overall, our experience at Extraction was nothing short of excellent. The extensive menu, warm atmosphere, and exceptional food make it a standout in our community. Our top favorites were the “Avocado, Tiger Prawns & Eggs” and the Tiramisu. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a delicious brunch or a cozy meal, look no further than Extraction. We’ll definitely be returning soon for another visit.
Chicken Katsu Don, 19 ringgit The Chicken Katsu Don was pretty good. This dish came with meaty, juicy, boneless chicken pieces that was generous in portion size. The pieces were relatively bigger in size compared to the other chicken dons I’ve come across. The rice too were generously portioned with plenty of fluffy egg bits scattered all over. One issue I had with this dish was the soy broth. This was surprisingly not generous? There was not enough to last me until the end, or midway even which meant that halfway through, the dish as a whole became a tad dry.
Ezel's big breakfast was indeed a big plate of happiness as described. There was a lot going on on the plate and the scrambled eggs could be fluffier but it was decent. If you're hungry enough to eat a horse, the big breakfast is definitely worth it.
Nice environment, interesting choices of drinks available.
Ooooo man, this was one good pizza. It was light, thin crusted and came with plenty of toppings. Lots of mozzarella cheese, broccoli, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, eggplants and olive. It was a delicious dish. The pizza was shared between the 3 of us, each of us 2 slices. Despite eating those, it felt like it was hardly enough. Next time I am going to order one box, all for me, myself and I. No sharing 😊
Verdict: Would I come here again? Recommended for vegetarian + cafe style. It makes my stomach and my wallet happy, hahaha. Their nyonya curry mee is truly satisfying!
"Wake me Up" seems to offer a lot more food choice compared to "Augmented Cafe" (I think), but today I am just having a cuppa of Latte which is very nicely done by the owner/coffee barista.
Luckily for me, this cafe serves chicken and prawn hor fun in soup at MYR 9.80 nett. Decent enough except that the soup is rather oily.
Wake Me Up is a neighbourhood café that’s peaceful & simple that has a very family friendly vibe & home-made feel. There’s really nothing fancy or pretentious in their menu. It’s mainly set up to cater to the residents in the surrounding area since it’s located away from the main busy SS2 commercial…
This Crispy Ebi Katsu Taru Taru Sando has captured my friend's heart! They packed the Japanese Shokupan bread with crispy Japanese shrimp katsu cutlets and hand-made Japanese taru taru sauce. Sando is topped with a lemon slice; if you pour the lemon sauce or not is entirely up to you. She said next time, she sure chooses this again when she brings her friend when she is free! I agree with her since I felt this crispy ebi katsu taru taru was delicious!
Of the two drinks in Ono, we liked Tsubaki more due to the texture and the light sweetness. Ren tasted more bland as compared to Tsubaki.
❤️😱This store sells one of the best 🔥 Burnt Cheese cakes in town! The owner is a finalist from the Reality TV show “Nescafe Kick Start”. She bakes everythi...
The Cafe specializes in Cakes slices and whole cakes for order.
What do We Like about Soy Bean Factory, SS 2? -Customizable tau fu fah with many add on options available
Upon stepping into the small and cosy Spacegrey (enclaved within Floralreef), we immediately liked the vibe it was releasing
They also offer Cocoa Milk, Matcha Milk and Coffee Milk in bottles (RM40 for 4 including the juice).Come for the coffee; chat with the barista/owner, and enjoy the fresh blooms.
What do We Like about Chocc SS 2? -Surprisingly tasty Chocc Shot with lime and salt -The couverture chocolate which allows us to learn more about it
The scrambled eggs of Five My Way in Bandit were nicely done, very appetizing in the bright yellow, cheesy and buttery look.
Coffee was ok, guess the major intention for most of the patrons would be the space itself, we can see quite many people like us visited on a weekday’s afternoon.
TamanHati is particularly popular on the weekends as people come here for coffee, cakes, and plants. TamanHati is more than just a space to catch up with friends and purchase plants. Jan has hosted community events here such as yoga classes and musical performances.
What do We Like about The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf SS 2? -Definitely the location with new renovation, new furniture and new furnishing. The ambience is quiet and peaceful. Great for a cup of coffee and tea with some pastries -The breakfast sets with free refills -The tasty pastries and pumpkin latte
Overall, Butter & Spice proved to be a convenient and enjoyable destination for satisfying our pastry cravings. So the next time you find yourself in SS 2 looking for something sweet or savory, be sure to stop by Butter & Spice for a treat.
The space here is comfortable with plenty of seats and filtered natural light through the glass walls. We’ll return to check out the hot menu (and for more of the delicious shiopan).
Overall, Niju Coffee Hub is to anyone looking for a cozy and relaxing coffee shop in SS2, PJ. Whether you’re a coffee lover or just looking for a place to chill, you’ll definitely feel at home here.
Whether you’re craving a distinctive fusion dish or a classic dessert with a twist, Chloe.Co SS 2 brings a touch of Ipoh to Petaling Jaya. It’s an ideal spot for a laid-back meal with friends or family.
Generally good ambiance and acceptable wifi speed.
