We also shared the Mee goreng Muthu (RM9.90), their version of the mee goreng mamak. Served piping hot, the fried yellow noodles was moist and full of flavour. Usually, the one we have at our local mamak only has tofu and vegetables, but this comes with prawns and sliced chicken too. An excellent plate of noodles!

Spaghetti Teriyaki Beef set lunch which includes a cup of hot tea - MYR 20+ (10% service charge = MYR 22 nett). Close up - can see the thin slices of beef, mushrooms, seaweed, bonito flakes and parsley. Luckily the teriyaki sauce is not very sweet and the pasta is not swimming in sauce. Crispy Chicken with Creme Sauce, 21 ringgit. This was similar to the creamy pesto sauce dish we’ve had previously. I remember liking that one and was looking for something similar, so I decided to give this dish a go. Pasta and sandwiches were not of interest to me today, so yea. This was delicious. The crispy boneless chicken bits and the creamy sauce complimented each other well. The chicken on its own, would have been pretty dry, however, add on the creamy sauce and you would get a burst of flavors and textures. The creme sauce itself came with spices and a lil milky sweetness, it had an overall tasty flavor to it. It resembled thick butter chicken sauce but totally different in flavor. Overall, a delicious dish. Loved it.

Greyhound Cafe - ANSA Kuala Lumpur Restaurant

One of the must-try pasta dishes at Greyhound Cafe is the Spaghetti with Dried Salty Fish (RM26). For me, this is pretty similar to an aglio olio, with the addition of holy basil leaves and chillies as well as the crispy salty fish (which is not to be mistaken for salted fish as this is quite lightly salted) which adds texture to the overall dish. I love the heat from the chillies and the fresh flavours from the herbs.

Most of us chose the Grilled Wagyu Burger (RM45) and I can see why it's a favorite here! Tender and juicy, the beef patty was sandwiched between homemade buns with lettuce, tomato and Emmental cheese. This is accompanied with matchstick fries as well as mesclun salad tossed in an 1837 Green Tea infused vinaigrette.

TWG fine luxury tea. TWG exquisite afternoon tea. To us, TWG Tea Salon and Boutique is very much associated with hi-tea style dining in an elegance ambience. In other words, shame to say, we actually put less focus on their savoury menu every time we are here, until we tasted their Festive Set at TWG Tea Salon and Boutique, Pavilion KL. For TWG Malaysia Festive Set Menu, diners can enjoy throughout the month of December 2017, all day at TWG Tea Salons & Boutiques Pavilion KL, The Gardens Mall and Gurney Paragon Mall. An upgraded version of Egg Benedict, Dean & Deluca's Zaatar Lamb Egg Benedict outclassed most Egg Bens in town. First, their English Muffin was a perfect match in this manner; unlike ordinary English Muffin, their version seemed to be chewier and less-prone to sogginess even being submerged in Hollandaise sauce and poached Egg for a while. The Hollandaise sauce was light and easy on the palate but still carrying the essential creaminess and discernible acidity. The pulled Lamb was a nice addition, the slight gamey flavor of the Lamb somehow complemented the entire dish, offering a meatier texture and dimension to the dish. It was a pity that the poached Egg was slightly overcooked though

Overall Rating: 8/10. I'm biased, perhaps. Plus, I didn't exactly feel the same cafe vibes that I did in Bangkok, here.

The Battle For Peace-Tachio, 18 ringgit. This was delicious. A perfect blend of sponge, mousse and couli. Do not let the chocolate exterior fool you into thinking this would be a chocolate sweet delight. Nope. It is more of a delicious mix of bitter sweet delight. The chocolate had a bitterness to it that complemented the chocolate mouse and pistachio filling. The raspberry couli provided a sour ‘kick’ that to the sweet and bitterness of this dessert. It is different but decadent and delicious. Loved it.

The Ice Chocolate with Coconut Milk is apparently a crowd favorite, hence why I decided to give it a try. It was something different. With every sip you’d taste, the taste of chocolate will hit you first. then the taste of coconut and it ends with the taste of slight bitterness from the small bits of dark chocolate scattered around. If you are the kind of person who liked your chocolate drink thick, you most probably would not enjoy this drink as much as due to the use of coconut milk, it is just a tad lighter, waterier than the usual. However, if you fancy a chocolate drink with a twist, do consider this combination. It is different, refreshing and makes for a good drink to quench your thirst. It was not too sweet, it had just the right amount. I most probably would still stick to the regular chocolate with cows milk but if I fancy something a lil different – I’d go for this.

Croque Monsieur, 20 ringgit. The Croque Monsieur is their popular dish and came recommended. It consisted of bread, turkey ham, cheddar cheese, mornay (cheese sauce?). This was delicious. Do make sure you have an empty stomach though because this sure is filling. I was halfway through and already felt stuffed. So, be warned. The melted cheese on the top – I am soooo a fan. Banana French Toast with Ice Cream, 12.90 ringgit. Man, this was da bomb. Definitely a perfect dish to conclude my time here at Touch of Love. This was basically dessert, lol, and is part of their ‘Toast’ section. Basically, what you’d get on the plate is 2 mini pieces of french toast + 2 slices of caramelized bananas + chocolate sauce + sliced almonds + a cup of Vanilla ice cream on the side. This was really good and made a perfect dessert, with just the right amount of sweetness and crunchyness.

Pour Over Coffee – RM27 Although the Pour Over Coffee that was served to us was black and without sugar, it had a slightly fruity taste and a mellow tone. The coffee also had a super strong aroma which is distinctively unique. Despite this we found the coffee to be quite light and easy on the mouth but the caffeine in it was certainly strong enough to keep us awake. The coffee is without a doubt extraordinary and not commonly available in Kuala Lumpur so it is definitely worth a try for coffee lovers. Banana Pancakes mixed Berries, 16 ringgit. Looks fancy, ey? This has to be a first for me, being served pancakes on a solid wooden platter. I like it 🙂 So, the dish comes with a mini bowl with mixed berries + 2 fluffy pancakes filled with bananas + a real generous portion of good honey. In most cases, I usual have to request for a refill of honey , especially when they use a good one. Considering the price, I understand why they stinge on it but still, as a customer, you need to demand your share, especially when it comes to pancakes. Here though, they literally present you with a lot of honey, so much more than usual that it is highly likely you would request for more. I was literally jumping with glee. The pancakes as a whole was delicious. The pancakes although is thicker than the usual ones – it is not less fluffy , with a sense of lightness to it. Having it on its own with the banana was good enough. Add it good honey and the sourness from the berries – one yummy pancake. Loved it.

Among the few dishes we tried, the Roasted Lamb Rack @ RM55.90 was our favorite. It features three pieces of extra large lamb cutlets that were expertly cooked, the meat is so tender!

Set Lunches: Signature Thunder Rice, 18 ringgit The Thunder Rice was wholesome. It actually is a vegetarian dish with an option to add on chicken, 6 ringgit or salmon, 8 ringgit. In all the rush, we kindda forgot to add on the meat while placing our order and when we finally remembered, we decided to forego it anyways due to the lengthy time it took for the dish to arrive at our table. For a vegetarian option, it wasnt bad at all. It was quite delicious. I did not feel like I was missing out on anything, especially in the absence of meat.

Il Pollo, 26 ringgit. So, was my hope and prayers answered? Yessss ! The sandwich was awesome. It basically consisted of their in-house gourmet bread of the day + chunks of chicken + Greek yogurt, mint + garlic butter. The yogurt + mint combo was really tasty and having it with chicken was utterly delicious. That combo provided such yummy flavor that chili sauce, mayonnaise and any other sauces which usually accompanies these sort of sandwiches are long forgotten. The chicken chunks were crispy and meaty, the bread glazed with a spread of garlic butter was moist and tasty. The sandwich as a whole was flavorful and really good. I loved it.
