Ra-Ft Breakfast, 33 ringgit I liked the fact that when I requested for scrambled eggs to be ‘runny’, it came runny. You’d be surprised how many times I’d have to return the plate for them to get it right the second time, elsewhere … many times. Thank god it was not the case here. Here, they listen. As you’d be able to see, this dish comes with a slice of homemade bread, mushrooms, baked beans, roasted tomatoes, bacon, chicken sausage, scrambled eggs and mashed potato. It was good, yummy. Every single item on the place was flavorful.

I once read a comment by a reader of eatdrinkkl and couldn't agree with him more...that we all get caught up with trying new places (I have to since I'm writing a food blog) and, more often than not, we get disappointed with these new outlets and would return to our regular 'tried and tested' outlets that we know will not disappoint....and that for me is a meal at Ra.Ft's :) Consistency is something that's extremely difficult to maintain and Ra.Ft has not let me down...their consistency in cooking, taste and presentation deserves a pat on the back. And the good news is...they've recently launched their Ra-Ft Loyalty Card to reward their loyal customers. But let me share yet another piece of happy news.....a new outlet is in the works...and it's coming to....(ooo, let it be a surprise!) ^_*

Spaghetti Teriyaki Beef set lunch which includes a cup of hot tea - MYR 20+ (10% service charge = MYR 22 nett). Close up - can see the thin slices of beef, mushrooms, seaweed, bonito flakes and parsley. Luckily the teriyaki sauce is not very sweet and the pasta is not swimming in sauce. I kept half the portion for dinner as usual.

Crispy Chicken with Creme Sauce, 21 ringgit. This was similar to the creamy pesto sauce dish we’ve had previously. I remember liking that one and was looking for something similar, so I decided to give this dish a go. Pasta and sandwiches were not of interest to me today, so yea. This was delicious. The crispy boneless chicken bits and the creamy sauce complimented each other well. The chicken on its own, would have been pretty dry, however, add on the creamy sauce and you would get a burst of flavors and textures. The creme sauce itself came with spices and a lil milky sweetness, it had an overall tasty flavor to it. It resembled thick butter chicken sauce but totally different in flavor. Overall, a delicious dish. Loved it.

One of the must-try pasta dishes at Greyhound Cafe is the Spaghetti with Dried Salty Fish (RM26). For me, this is pretty similar to an aglio olio, with the addition of holy basil leaves and chillies as well as the crispy salty fish (which is not to be mistaken for salted fish as this is quite lightly salted) which adds texture to the overall dish. I love the heat from the chillies and the fresh flavours from the herbs.

In other words, shame to say, we actually put less focus on their savoury menu every time we are here, until we tasted their Festive Set at TWG Tea Salon and Boutique, Pavilion KL. An upgraded version of Egg Benedict, Dean & Deluca's Zaatar Lamb Egg Benedict outclassed most Egg Bens in town. First, their English Muffin was a perfect match in this manner; unlike ordinary English Muffin, their version seemed to be chewier and less-prone to sogginess even being submerged in Hollandaise sauce and poached Egg for a while. The Hollandaise sauce was light and easy on the palate but still carrying the essential creaminess and discernible acidity. The pulled Lamb was a nice addition, the slight gamey flavor of the Lamb somehow complemented the entire dish, offering a meatier texture and dimension to the dish. It was a pity that the poached Egg was slightly overcooked though

Plus, I didn't exactly feel the same cafe vibes that I did in Bangkok, here.

The Ice Chocolate with Coconut Milk is apparently a crowd favorite, hence why I decided to give it a try. It was something different. With every sip you’d taste, the taste of chocolate will hit you first. then the taste of coconut and it ends with the taste of slight bitterness from the small bits of dark chocolate scattered around. If you are the kind of person who liked your chocolate drink thick, you most probably would not enjoy this drink as much as due to the use of coconut milk, it is just a tad lighter, waterier than the usual. However, if you fancy a chocolate drink with a twist, do consider this combination. It is different, refreshing and makes for a good drink to quench your thirst. It was not too sweet, it had just the right amount. I most probably would still stick to the regular chocolate with cows milk but if I fancy something a lil different – I’d go for this.

Banana French Toast with Ice Cream, 12.90 ringgit. Man, this was da bomb. Definitely a perfect dish to conclude my time here at Touch of Love. This was basically dessert, lol, and is part of their ‘Toast’ section. Basically, what you’d get on the plate is 2 mini pieces of french toast + 2 slices of caramelized bananas + chocolate sauce + sliced almonds + a cup of Vanilla ice cream on the side. This was really good and made a perfect dessert, with just the right amount of sweetness and crunchyness.

Pure Indulgence, 20 ringgit. If you are looking for something sweet to fill you up, then do give this a try. Pure Indulgence is another crowd favourite and it includes fluffy Belgian Waffles coated with Belgian chocolate sauce + Banana + strawberries + a scoop of ice cream. It was filling but I aint complaining, lol. My ice cream of choice was Chocolate. They had several other flavors like Matcha, Salted Egg, Durian D 24, French Vanilla. The ice creams are a Must Try. Rich and creamy, it was really good. Just a scoop by itself will cost you 7 Ringgit or if you want to indulge like me, have the whole works with waffles via Pure Indulgence. The waffles used are the same as the ones I got in Murakami. Top that waffle with some chocolate sauce and decadent chocolate ice cream? and some banana? Gooood Stuff. Delicious.

Pour Over Coffee – RM27 Although the Pour Over Coffee that was served to us was black and without sugar, it had a slightly fruity taste and a mellow tone. The coffee also had a super strong aroma which is distinctively unique. Despite this we found the coffee to be quite light and easy on the mouth but the caffeine in it was certainly strong enough to keep us awake. The coffee is without a doubt extraordinary and not commonly available in Kuala Lumpur so it is definitely worth a try for coffee lovers. Il Pollo, 26 ringgit. So, was my hope and prayers answered? Yessss ! The sandwich was awesome. It basically consisted of their in-house gourmet bread of the day + chunks of chicken + Greek yogurt, mint + garlic butter. The yogurt + mint combo was really tasty and having it with chicken was utterly delicious. That combo provided such yummy flavor that chili sauce, mayonnaise and any other sauces which usually accompanies these sort of sandwiches are long forgotten. The chicken chunks were crispy and meaty, the bread glazed with a spread of garlic butter was moist and tasty. The sandwich as a whole was flavorful and really good. I loved it.

My order: Steak & Ale pie with Parsley Gravy and two side dishes - Chunky Chips and Mashed Peas at MYR 32++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 37.12 nett). One pie with gravy but without any side dishes costs MYR 24++ (MYR 27.84 nett). I like the taste of the peas and fries but kept half of every item for another meal. I like this steak & ale pie, very tasty tender cubes of beef in the pie and buttery pastry pie crust.

Laksa Pesto Pasta, 28 ringgit Anyways, if you forget about the pesto and simply view this dish as ‘Laksa Pasta’ – it was yummy. I loved the fact that they used a flat noodle as the pasta of choice because it sure was able to contain & retain more of the rich flavors of Laksa. It was a dry dish but the noodles were a lil wet, which worked as a glue of sorts and held all the ingredients together. There were a generous portion of clams prawns and calamari. Despite the minor blunder with the pesto, this dish as a whole was delicious.

From the lunch menu, we sampled the signature Roast spring chicken (RM35), stuffed with rosemary, roasted pumpkin, carrot, and potatoes, and served with Chef's special gravy. Beautifully tender, moist and flavorful, the spring chicken has been marinated in a mix of local spices and then roasted to order, for 20-25 minutes
