Here's the location.
Real Food
The best part is, not only you get to pamper your palate but also stand a chance to win exciting prizes by joining their Facebook contest.
everything is intended to soothe, staff are lovely, the brunch is great, and their milkshake is nigh-on irresistible.
We had BYOB (RM 14.90), a homemade pork patty which you can choose to add other toppings such as cheese, mushrooms, salsa and other ingredients at additional cost. Seasoning of the patty was alright and the sauces done well to give the taste an uplifting. Overall quite a satisfying burger to have in the morning.
We were shocked but delighted to see the gigantic portion of this Caveman Platter which should be able to feed 3 to 5 person well. The Platter comes with 2 Chicken Sausages, 2 Pepper Lamb Sausages, 4 Chicken Kebabs, 4 Chicken Wings, as well as some Char-Grilled Lamb. Both the sausages were well-executed and delicious so does the Kebab.
Coffee Jelly 这是 No Eyed Deer 最著名的甜品。 我觉得还不错,因为我很喜欢喝咖啡。
The Poke Bowl on the other hand, was beyond amazing. The Rice was infused with Pesto and they were very generous with the condiments. The concoction turned out to be a little sweet but it was completely bearable. We love the Pesto-element and thought the dish was very palatable. Not the ordinary Poke Bowl that you can find elsewhere but Javu's rendition is surely one of the better ones.
Intrigued by its name, we ordered a Chicken Tagine (RM 32) and Chicken Piri Piri (RM 22), a Moroccan specialty served with rice & couscous and a sousvide whole boneless chicken marinated in piri piri sauce respectively. The classic North African chicken tagine had 4 decent chicken stew in curry alike gravy, though it is lighter than the conventional Malaysian curries. However to our dismay, the promised couscous on the menu description was missing! As we were in a hurry, we did not bother to ask.
For seafood lovers, indulge in the Red Snapper Ratatouille. This house special offers fresh local red snapper baked with flaky softness, served with crunch of almonds, parmesan, and lemon butter.
Service is good and price is reasonable.
Spaghetti Aglio olio with Smoked Duck (RM 21) is cooked to al-dente with a generous quantity of smoked duck. Sprinkles of chili flakes may be a tad overwhelming as it rendered the entire dish tasted flat. Overall, the spaghetti was a tad greasy to enjoy.
Rather a playful combination, the Creamy Tomato Thai Sauce Spaghetti did not really hit us. We found the combo a little odd at the beginning... it was a medley of sweet, savory, sour and spiciness in one go but it was somehow weird to us. It was something like Thai Chili sauce with Carbonara Cream sauce; the Chicken was disappointingly average. Though tender, it did not really leave us with a very deep impression.
Meraki Coffee is the latest addition to Island Plaza. Unlike some hip cafes in town, Meraki Coffee keeps things simple. The interior decor with wood finishes radiates a calm and relaxing vibe while the menu offers a range of classic crowd-pleasing cafe fare and a couple of unique offerings. The menu is not exactly big but more than good enough for breakfast or light-lunches. Those with a sweet tooth would be glad to know that Meraki Coffee offers a good variety of home-made cakes and pastries. Though the menu is not really solid enough to make the cafe a place for meal, it is nevertheless, a convenient space within the mall with cozy atmosphere to hang out with friends or family.
While Penang does have a fair share of Vietnamese food joints, it is not common to find a restaurant that serves Indo-China cuisine (Laotian, Cambodian and Vietnamese). Indochine Cafe is probably the first restaurant that does so in Penang, the newly opened restaurant settled in a semi-detached house at Jalan Hashim, right next to Hotel Sentral Seaview (formerly known as Naza Talyya Penang). Once we were ushered in and seated, the friendly proprietor approached us fast and introduced us to the menu. The Indo-China delicacies-focused menu is extensive and covers some of the countries' highlights. But the al-fresco atmosphere at the restaurant is equally interesting- homey, harmony yet with a sense of elegance. We love the variety here but somehow the flavors did not quite hit us, they were perfectly fine but lacked the wow factor to lure us back.
The indecisive would have trouble in deciding what to order. Of all 4 types of Shaved Ice we had, we enjoyed Black Sesame Grass Jelly Shaved Ice the most. The flavor was subtle with a sleek sweetness, the accompany Grass Jelly was surprisingly resilient and chewy (not the soft and mushy type). Dragon Fruit Cultured Ice was an interesting combination, the Dragon-fruit infused Shaved Ice was served with Yakult Shaved Ice, so it was a good balance between sweet and sour. Passion Mango Snow was okay but a tad too sweet to our liking. All in all, if you afford to opt for additional toppings, we would encourage you to do so. The texture tend to be a little monotonous without toppings so it's wiser to add a couple or so.
Overall, the foods offering here are quite good and the price is reasonable. We would definitely visit again in the future.
Fish Fillet in Superior Soup Ramen 上汤鱼片拉面 (Rm 15.80) The Ramen was not any better as well, though the broth was flavorful, it did not really hit us. We thought it was disappointingly average
Seafood Tomyam Congee (RM 16.80) Meanwhile, Seafood Tomyam Congee texture was perfect - mushy and fine to a smooth consistency. Though not exactly hot and spicy like the conventional tomyam taste, overall the taste was good for us. The congee was soothing, something which we would definitely come back in future.
Purists however, should go for the Pure Matcha Nishio, a real testament to the rich Matcha experience but do expect the low-bitter aftertaste.
Finally, before we hit off, decided to try out their French Toast @ RM 5.50. This is one of the best, fried to perfection, peanut butter amount is just right. Crust from outside, soft inside. Indeed one of a item must order.
我们点了店家推荐的【泡参桃胶炖雪梨】-- 桃胶除了能够抗皱嫩肤美容外,也具有改善糖尿病的症状及胃痛胃炎的功效。
We have a feeling that this is going to be a new favourite spot among Tanjong Tokong and Tanjung Bungah residents.
This cafe is hidden from main road and the surrounded with trees and plants. Operated for 6 months, this cafe is run by a few local youngsters. The food here is very down to earth and the price is reasonable too.
