Chocolate Matcha Brownie, 13 ringgit. The brownie was nice. I usual stay clear of anything matcha related because the taste is most often slightly overpowering, sort of an acquired taste. Here however, with some matcha powder sprinkled on the top, it was not overpowering at all. It was pretty good. Not too sweet, the sprinkled matcha powder elevated the taste of the brownie by providing a tinge of bitterness that complemented the chocolate flavor well. The fact that it is also flourless, the texture of the brownie was different but thoroughly satisfying. Loved it.

Spaghetti Teriyaki Beef set lunch which includes a cup of hot tea - MYR 20+ (10% service charge = MYR 22 nett). Close up - can see the thin slices of beef, mushrooms, seaweed, bonito flakes and parsley. Luckily the teriyaki sauce is not very sweet and the pasta is not swimming in sauce. I kept half the portion for dinner as usual.

Crispy Chicken with Creme Sauce, 21 ringgit. This was similar to the creamy pesto sauce dish we’ve had previously. I remember liking that one and was looking for something similar, so I decided to give this dish a go. Pasta and sandwiches were not of interest to me today, so yea. This was delicious. The crispy boneless chicken bits and the creamy sauce complimented each other well. The chicken on its own, would have been pretty dry, however, add on the creamy sauce and you would get a burst of flavors and textures. The creme sauce itself came with spices and a lil milky sweetness, it had an overall tasty flavor to it. It resembled thick butter chicken sauce but totally different in flavor. Overall, a delicious dish. Loved it.

Cajun Butter Shrimp, 19 ringgit. The rice bowl was simply yummy! It tasted like a combination of tasty fried rice + sweet buttery sauce + 6, 7 medium sized prawns + egg + crunchy crumbs. Very nice. I truly enjoyed this dish. My friend and I, between the two of us and the first few spoons of this rice bowl – you’d here ‘omaaaaagod’, ‘ yummmmmm’, ‘this is gooood’ … yup, that sums up how much we enjoyed it. Since I decided to pass on the fine print, consider me surprised. I was especially so to find the thick, sweet butter sauce in the rice and at the bottom of the bowl and they provided me with plenty, enough for me to slurp it up. When you mix it all up, for me at least – it tasted like yummy fried rice with sweet, gooey butter sauce gravy and chewy prawn + egg. I’d certainly go for this dish again.

We also shared the Mee goreng Muthu (RM9.90), their version of the mee goreng mamak. Served piping hot, the fried yellow noodles was moist and full of flavour. Usually, the one we have at our local mamak only has tofu and vegetables, but this comes with prawns and sliced chicken too. An excellent plate of noodles!

Initially we came for cute Pokemon art which appeared on Instagram, but apparently not available for that day. They prepare it randomly, and it was so sweet of them to allow us to request! They didn't give us a reason why no Pokemon theme (I assume it depends on barista's skills...?), but at least they allowed us to pick normal ones.

Croque Monsieur, 20 ringgit. The Croque Monsieur is their popular dish and came recommended. It consisted of bread, turkey ham, cheddar cheese, mornay (cheese sauce?). This was delicious. Do make sure you have an empty stomach though because this sure is filling. I was halfway through and already felt stuffed. So, be warned. The melted cheese on the top – I am soooo a fan. Just biting into that layer of cheese + bread + turkey ham … yummmm!

Sabah Soft Shell Crab Fried Rice, 28 ringgit. Ooooo man, do not get me started on this dish. The fried soft shell crab was da bomb! The crab here was pretty huge, I kindda thought half of it was made up of flour but nope, the flour was just a thin layer on the outside, the inside – was all crab, from one end to the other. No joke. They added some spices and that gave it some sort of spicy, herb-y flavor? It gives it a different taste entirely from the ones you’d usually get elsewhere. The flavors from the crab totally compliments the salted egg fried rice, which on its own was utterly delicious. The whole dish was delicious. Certainly a dish I will reorder again and again.

The cakes here are home made. They have a selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic cakes, depends of what you fancy. I decided on the Tiramisu. Since it is from their ‘alcoholic’ variety, the taste of rum is guaranteed. It was the first and last thing I taste with every bite I took. It was not in an overwhelming way though, more like pleasant. As a whole, the cake itself was light and fluffy, not the kind that would lave you stuffed by the time you reach the end.

Banana French Toast with Ice Cream, 12.90 ringgit. Man, this was da bomb. Definitely a perfect dish to conclude my time here at Touch of Love. This was basically dessert, lol, and is part of their ‘Toast’ section. Basically, what you’d get on the plate is 2 mini pieces of french toast + 2 slices of caramelized bananas + chocolate sauce + sliced almonds + a cup of Vanilla ice cream on the side. This was really good and made a perfect dessert, with just the right amount of sweetness and crunchyness.

The chocolate soft serve is definitely a favorite of mine. I loveeee the premium chocolate taste it has, evident from the start till the end. It was not too sweet and the sweetness was a compliment to the slight bitterness of the chocolate. There was thickness, decadence and milkiness. Slurp!
