Overall the food tasted really delicious and flavourful but slightly too expensive for some people, for example the fish curry head cost around RM 55 but I personally think is kinda worth la.

The curry dishes are available from 12pm onwards everyday, except Sundays. Sin Hiap Kee Restaurant’s Chinese-Indian mixed rice is popular among the locals and even before 12am, people are already sitting around waiting for them to open their stall.

Fish head curry is the signature dish here so it should be on top of your priority list to try. The moment you order it, the lady boss will ask whether you want the cheap or expensive option: mackerel or red snapper. The whole red snapper head costs RM75, it’s way over our lunch budget so we settled for the mackerel slice instead @ RM14.

Overall, it was an okay lunch for me. I went there with a high expectation but I was not impressed with their spiciness level. If you guys, love Japanese Curry then you guys can give it a try.

My Personal Opinion I think this could very well be my last time eating Japanese curry. Even a Japanese curry specialist didn't do it for me. I guess I'm just not into Japanese curry...neither the proteins (which are mostly fried) nor the curry impressed. C'mon, once we've eaten/tasted the complexities of our local curries, is there anything that can come close? Yeah, I know, it's not a fair comparison since Japanese curry is different.

Ken Curry House Restaurant

389 Jalan Batu Maung 11960 Batu Maung Penang Malaysia

Those who frequent Batu Maung area might be familiar to this place, those who are in the know would have at least heard or visited the place... definitely a hidden gem worth to uncover. Nestled in a bungalow along Jalan Batu Maung (opposite to the World Fish Organization), Ken Curry House attracts the factory workers working nearby... for its inexpensive, satisfying yet tummy-filling Curry (with rice) variants. It has been there for a few years and it only opens during lunch hours... to cater for the lunch crowd. The curry specialist offers nothing except curries... and occasionally, a special home-cooked Bak Kut Teh (small menu). The place has a simple setting overlooking the garden, but it can be a little warm during the sultry hot days. Not too shabby for a quick meal but not a place to hang out.

雖然咖哩飯上桌時覺得賣相不怎麼誘人 但實際品嚐後覺得口味很不錯,也蠻喜歡 是間很有人情味的小店,路過不妨來試試

The flavor was multi-dimensional with a remarkable depth of flavors, probably thanks to the heaps of Seafood added which introduced another layer of seafood-sweetness to the Curry. Everything was fresh, the pristine white flesh was firm and nary a hint of fishiness. Equally praise-worthy was the perfectly cooked plump and bursty Prawns, a rice-company-worthy dish that packs many tasty delights in one!

家咖哩 安和店 Restaurant
