The pretty cake was gently and flowery sweet, very delicate and layered, with many different textures, from the fruity guava and elderflower mousse encasing three different layers – diced fresh pears, pink guava jelly and a buttery and crumbly cookie base. The latte was so so though, very milky.
Tigerlily Patisserie is a great addition to Joo Chiat, which joins the ranks of popular establishments like Da Dong Prawn Noodles and Petit Pain. Expect to pay higher than average prices for tarts, crazy queues and one aspect which could be better, the service.

There are now many good cafes along East Coast Road. They compete for business but each also has its own niche. You can find a cafe that specialises in chai, or one for pastry and one that serves great coffee. If we want great waffles and ice cream, then Creamier East Coast will be our preferred destination.
