Overall, lunch at Ginza Anzu Great World was a pleasant experience. The ground floor restaurants were not very crowded at lunchtime on a weekday. But the car park was quite full, possibly because there are two major supermarkets in this shopping mall – Cold Storage and Meidiya.
I haven't been to Anzu since they left their old location. But we were at their Great World spot tonight (1 Kim Seng Promenade #01-113), and this was not only one of the cheapest items on the menu, but also one of the only non-breaded items.
The scallop katsu was bouncy and sweet, and was really sashimi grade, fried to a nice crunch and fragrance with the panko crust outside but still rare inside. Ditto the prawn katsu, which was full of qq prawns that was cooked just nice, again retaining their bounciness and sweetness. Very nice.
