[Muslim-friendly] Hey, it’s British fish and chips! We returned to Cor Blimey! for some authentic British fish and chips. Founded by Hampshire-bred Adam, Cor Blimey! uses only Halal ingredients and serves no alcohol or pork. Max opted for the Alaskan Pollock (RM32.90) – which comprises two huge chu…
All in all, the numerous visits to Cor Blimey have been a wonderful one so far. Glad to learn that authentic British style Fish & Chips is much more accessible now instead of having to travel oversea to fix the craving. Thence, I look forward to many returns again to this quaint shop that no doubt captures each diner’s heart with its quality sumptuous feast.
Ultimate Sides Platter (MYR 29.90) The perfect combo for all the sides variety consisting of onion rings, mushrooms, broccoli cheese croquettes, cheddar cheese melts and crispy zucchini fries served with homemade sauces.
Tried out the Famous Clam Dishes from Two Sons Bistro in The Starling Mall! Definitely worth every penny! Give it a try and hope you guys like it! :)Address:...
Verdict: The food we had were just run-of-the-mill and nothing really excited us. Service was a bit slow although the restaurant was quite vacant on that day. Revisit? I’m afraid, not.
Overall, yes its good.
到了最后,当然是要让你们知道价钱啦,他们原价这的很贵,但是他们一直都有折扣40%
This time around I tried their ala carte menu which has some good deals. The Sang Har Meen tasted as though if it went through over-used oil. The prawns were fine. It came with spinach in double boiled soup and century eggs. It was not very inspiring to look at. The Seafood Pot has all the right moves. Great succulent prawns and fresh crunchy green peas. My recommendation - stick to dim sum.
As we all know, CNY is just around the corner. However, if you happen to be still scratching your head thinking where to celebrate this year's Chinese New Year, look no further as we might have just the perfect place for you.
This is my favourite place for fish and chips as it’s the closest taste-wise to the ones in the UK. Since the Hubs is now here in Malaysia (and a trip to the UK is impossible atm), I brought him along so he could have a taste.
My order of dory fish in onion garlic batter, served with a side of baked beans. Fish was fried to crispy perfection and did not feel greasy at all; was moist and juicy on the inside. Same went for the thick cut chips. Beans were good, curry sauce was on point. Only thing that could do with improvement was the onion gravy, which was a tad too sweet for me, but all in all, still decent.
I have been searching for authentic British fish and chips in KL since forever so when Cor Blimey opened in Jan 2016 and billed itself as "giving locals a taste of authentic British food...", I plan to eat there but it took more than a year for my plan to become reality because I seldom venture into that area.
只需区区 RM15,你就可以一尝当贵妇的感觉,最贵的英式下午茶餐也只不过是 RM57。
Their hi – tea comes for two comes at affordable price which is RM 28.00 ++ per set where one can enjoy their savoury pasteries such as the Tuna Filo Puff, Sausage & Egg Quiche. With 2 scones with the homemade clotted cream and fruit jam. Sides with their hand brew flower tea with it. They also have other sets available which includes the English Royal Tea.
Verdict: 1. Ambiance wise, I totally have no complaints at all. Posh, trendy and elegant; Perfect venue to chill! 2. Thumbs up for the wide assortment of tea that wows me with unique and distinctive flavours. I think I'd consider reducing coffee and go for the healthy tea instead. 3. Recommended: Tea Verandah, Yogurt Tea, Scone
The pinchos iberico were our favorites of the day, the skewer was properly marinated and carry a hint of sweetness coupled with the savory taste from iberico pork that were so delicious I wished we had ordered more.
Deli style restaurant serving a selection of porky goodness, including the famed Iberico porkFull review - http://kyspeaks.com/2020/12/18/ky-eats-iberico-por...
The name “abanico” actually refers to the Iberico cut of meat which wraps the ribs. It is a thin piece, marbled with fats, that’s extremely tasty when grilled right – juicy and tender. Chef Eric does this perfectly, with just a sprinkling of sea salt to bring out the natural flavor of the meat. There’s a limited amount available, so be sure to order this signature cut.
The Guinness Braised Lamb Shank (RM48) is drool-worthy with a large lamb shank, beautifully glazed in a lusciously dark and rich Guinness sauce, on a bed of mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. Fork tender, the lamb shank was well-braised, enough to be deliciously flavourful from the wonderful moreish sauce. The sides were the classic perfect accompaniments to that lamb.
The Grilled Lamb Rack (RM58) has three juicy chops perfectly done with a pink centre. It’s served with a honey-mustard sauce, a drizzle of mustard and roasted vegetables on the side.
Carbonara was gorgeous, my all-time favourite in Italiannies. The pasta cooks to the perfect al dente and served with pools of luscious sauce. Carbonara @ RM 37.90
Grilled Chicken Chop with Black Pepper Sauce @ RM 20.90 Just like the last visit, their Grilled Chicken Chop was truly excellent. The cuts were good with and they were really tender. The accompanying Black Pepper Sauce was really good too. Their sides are quite standard across their dishes and I would say that the Fries were crisp and good. My rating for this dish shall be 9/10.
Lamb Cutlets @ RM 22.80 Their Lamb Cutlets were another marvelous preparation. The taste of the lamb was so good and it reminded me of the Lamb Chops that we used to get back in the 80's. A long lost taste that is almost impossible to find these days. Beautiful cuts with almost no bone served with mint sauce. My rating for this shall be 10/10 as well.
Part of the set lunch at MYR 18.50 nett. A glass of hot lemon tea with unlimited salad from the salad bar - I just took some salad leaves, tomatoes, florets of cauliflower, corn niblets, and segments of pineapple rings from a can. Refillable mushroom soup is included too but I did not want any soup so I did not take any of it but my friend says that the soup is tasty.
Tonight's 5-course wine dégustation menu is priced at RM330.00++ per person. Considering Soleil's refined ambience and impeccable table service, the price is very affordable to people who appreciate fine wines. In fact, Soleil aims to make quality wines more accessible to the average customer.
Every year my best friends and I will select one good restaurant to celebrate our Christmas gift exchange, therefore this year we have decided to choose this...
Considering Soleil's refined ambience and impeccable table service, the price is very affordable to people who appreciate fine wines.
Verdict: Overall, the food was pretty satisfying, scored well in terms of flavours and presentation. But the price was a bit on higher side (for my standard) and the service can be a little prompter.
Pork 2 Ways was delicious. I’m not a meat lover but this is exceptional. Pork 2 Ways @ RM 40
2ND Floor Kitchen & Bar at TTDI, Kuala Lumpur holds the nuances of a hipster cafe for relaxing brunch during the day; yet provides an elegant, welcoming ambience of a restaurant bar for intimate, casual dining in the evening.
There was not much meat on the ribs. The meat was well marinated though a bit on the dry side. Had the membrane been removed, it would be better as it was very chewy. The sambal was good and so was the sup tulang. I must admit that I enjoyed my dinner although at RM59.00, I would not order this again. Many thanks to mum who insisted on footing the bill (again!).
Over here at LUT Gastrobar, the vibes here are very relaxing, no strict dress code whereby smart casual attire is also welcomed to join the chirpy upbeat atmosphere of conviviality while remain comfortably enjoying haute cuisine without burning a hole in hour wallet. So the next time if you’re looking for a perfect place to unwind while savoring moreish plates coupled with some tipples of vino, remember LUT Gastrobar, bon appétit!
Among his culinary creations we sampled are Crab Tacos (RM42) featuring Soft Shell Crabs with Kyuri, Tobiko and Spicy Avacado. Beautifully presented, the dainty appetisers are designed for casual dining – meaning you can pick them up without creating a mess. We like the co-mingling of soft and crunchy textures and of bold, vivid flavours.

We were there for their 4-Course Lunch Menu, which we felt was a lovely deal packaged at MYR188 per pax considering the course are elaborately crafted with fine food and ingredients of French quintessence.
For snacks I would be recommending: 1. any of their Roast Pork Series as it is pretty good. 2. Squid 3. Signature Mezasoba for mains
Nasi Oxtail Bakar RM37 Our next dish was this famous Indonesian grilled oxtail served with sambal penyet, vegetable soup and steamed white rice. Although the chargrilled braised oxtail may not be aesthetically pleasing, it was downright delicious and goes really well with the super fiery sambal. So hot but so good!
