Overall, the ingredients were very fresh and did not taste like it was laden with MSG. The price of the add-ons is slightly more expensive compared to the other restaurants offering steamboat in Cameron but I feel the quality does justify the price tag.
Located at Tringkap area’s main roadside lies a Water Cress Farm well known for its natural farming, spectacular scenery, and delicious styles of watercress cooking.
Overall, the food at Water Cress Valley is fairly tasty and fresh. Nevertheless, I think the main appeal lies in the nice scenery that the restaurant offers. Water Cress Valley also serves stir-fried (煮炒) Chinese dishes, but we do not have the stomach capacity to taste any dishes this round.
Farm In The City has 17 stations to explore including pony rides. We saw alpacas, deers, horses, guinea pigs, rabbits, skunks, snakes, tortoises, fish, birds, raccoons and many other animals. It combines wildlife animals and tamed animals without cages. Animals are allowed to roam freely and visitors can feed, pet and take memorable photos. The design here is like a typical Malaysian 'kampung' and you can really feel yourself in a farm. We spent about 3 hours here and my children had a lot of fun feeding, petting and learning about these animals.
Step into the "longevity village" which houses a wide range of rare and exotic tortoises and turtles. On top of that, grab the chance to feed the giant tortoises in the farm. Get the vegetables from the zookeeper if you wish to feed the tortoises. You can also have a conversation with the zookeeper to get to know more about the tortoises such as their age, gender and so on.
Nak bergambar kat sana pun agak cantik jugak. Terpegun dengan keindahan bunga-bunga kat sana. Cantik sangat kalau bergambar.
Plenty of rabbits.
After that, we headed to a series of mini farms, starting with the duck pond. We were given some seeds before the tour to feed the ducks and chickens. They come in two different colour and I cannot quite remember which colour is for the duck and chicken respectively.
First Stop: We started off with the Feed stock Processing Centre where one can witness how the grasses are being processed for the goat and sheep. This is where the grass is blended and they are added with the vitamins and minerals in it before they are being consumed by the animals.
Before our afternoon tea time at Kebun Cafe, we visited one of the main attractions at Ulu Yam, which is World of Phalaenopsis. Built on a 6-acre agricultural land, World of Phalaenopsis as its name implies, is a nursery specialises in moth orchids.
If it’s the latter, then I suggest a day trip to Ulu Yam, where you’ll find World of Phalaenopsis, a plant nursery that specialises in phalaenopsis (or moth orchids, because phalaenopsis is a mouthful. lol). Tucked within a quiet kampung, about an hour’s drive from Kuala Lumpur, the nursery is home to thousands of orchids as well as a myriad of other plants — and it even has its own hipster-esque cafe called Florescence.
So after a brief stroll around the beautiful orchid farm of World Of Phalaenopsis, we quickly headed to the café for a speedy nosh.
Need to pre book tickets online during covid, but luckily the process is fairly easy on a phone. Though the farm is quite big, but you can hardly spot any cows. If you do spot them, all of them..
Dubbed as Sabah’s “Little New Zealand”...with its green fields and the distinctive black-and-white patched coat of the dairy cows. DESA Dairy Farm, Sabah is ...
Although it is a must visit place recomended from nearly every travel blog on the web but if you have been to New Zealand or any other dairy farm, I would ask you to skip this one if you are having a tight schedule because it doesn’t worth your time. Otherwise, you should check it out!
A natural fish spa by the river. The fishes are fairly big, so the spa experience could be quite "brutal". There are a lot of fishes, with 3 species, and there are very human friendly. Buy some..
Waktu kitorang sampai tu tak ramai sangat orang kat situ. Setiap seorang boleh masuk selama 15 minit sahaja, tak boleh berlama-lama. Banyak betul ikan kat situ, tak pasti pulak jenis ikan apa. Dah la saiznya besar-besar. Kita tak baling makanan pun ikan-ikan dah penuh, lagi pulak kalau kita bagi makanan. Laju aje ikan-ikan tu datang nak dapatkan makanan.
Overall, it was a great family hangout even though it is very far from Kluang for us. Outside the farm, you can experience holding the baby crocodile and taking picture with it for RM20/pax. For your information, you can even buy their crocodile egg too at RM10/egg. The egg is big but it does not taste like chicken egg. It taste more awful than chicken egg. Nonetheless, it is a great place to visit if you are passing by or leaving nearby here. Definitely not worth it if you are coming from far away. As you can finished the tour within an hour.
The entrance fee is RM8 for adults and RM4 for children. You pay RM20 if you want to feed the crocodiles, which we did. A young chap escorted us through the crocodile farm. He was armed with a bucket of chicken carcasses and called the crocodiles from the pond. Surprisingly the crocodiles knew what was going on, came up and waited for their food!
It's a shame that we did not visit the Crocodile Farm along Upper Serangoon Road before it ends its operation in 2012. The only crocodile farm left in Singapore is Long Kuan Hong Crocodile Farm, situated at New Tiew Crescent and is not open to public. Hence, during our drive-in to Johor Bahru last year, we decided to drop by Teluk Sengat Crocodile Farm to have an up close experience with the crocodiles. Housing more than 1000 saltwater crocodiles, including a 130-year old toothless crocodile, they are of different sizes and ages. Many crocodiles are lurking within the lake in the centre of the farm, which explains why it is blocked off and visitors are not allowed to get close to the lake.
Overall we enjoyed our visit. Could have been better if it wasn't so hot but we can't control the weather, can we? In fact, we were so glad weather was hot and sunny on that day as a few days before our trip it was raining non-stop. If you have not seen different type of fruit trees in person before, this is a good place to start. At least you won't get confused between a mango tree and papaya tree (happened to my kid, true story). Desaru Fruit Farm have different packages according to one's needs so best to check out their website, or you can speak to the boss Steve while at the farm itself.
Big Red Strawberry Farm, also known as Taman Agro Tourism, is an agricultural center growing strawberries and organic salad-based vegetables on a steep hill slope overlooking Brinchang town center – an exact same location with Cactus Valley, just that one is at the middle hill while another one is at the peak.
anak dara tu teringin sangat nak petik strawberry sendiri.. per basket RM25 deposit RM25 total 50 hengget kasi.. after petik bila timbang lebih dari 1/2kg nanti deduct from deposit tadi..
Big Strawberry Farm! There are many strawberry farms in Cameron Highlands and Big Strawberry Farm is one of the famous. Free admission!
Gebus gebas kan.. mama nak pegang tak boleh sebab duk carry Qeisya kan.. belai2 gitu jer lah..
Ada rusa jantan, rusa betina, baby rusa pun ada.
Harga tiket masuk RM8 seorang.

Entrance Fee to the ostrich farm has been revised since 2018 and it is RM20 (Adult) and RM15 (Child). As you enter the farm, there will be a guide to bring you to see the young chicks and other ostrich of different ages, how they are breed, fed and sharing of interesting fun facts of the ostrich.
DL and CL had a ride on an ostrich named Lulu. It cost RM20 per ride and came with a photo and certificate that says ‘So-and-so has successfully ridden on the world’s fastest bird’. Cost aside, only children weighing 45kg and below get to ride the bird. And it was only from one side of the enclosure to the other, so nothing much to shout about. Both of them enjoyed the ride so it was still worth it. Lulu couldn’t stand still when it was DL’s turn and ended up giving him a free ride of a few rounds within the enclosure.
Visitors can have the opportunity to get close and personal with the ostriches, interacts with them either with selfie, wefie or even a ride on them (for those andrenaline junkie) at a minimal charge. The admission fees to the farm are is at the rate of MYR12 and MYR 8 for adult and children respectively.

♥Verdict: The tour took about 2-2.5 hours, short but rather fun (especially the tram ride) and educational tour for both kids and adult. However, I think it would be better if they didn’t limit the visiting time for each attraction (except the Selangor Traditional House).
Do you want to take your kids on an educational trip during the holidays? I recommend that you and your family learn more about the diverse range of fruits and plants cultivated in Selangor Fruit Valley, Malaysia, and sample some delectable fruits! They also provided a tiny petting zoo with deer park and other animals!
Ticket is RM 15 per person, with only 20 minutes with the animal. You need to pay more to buy food to feed them. They only let one alpaca out, so you get to touch it and take photos. The alpaca is..

You can always walk-in for a simple guided tour around the park. It is RM15 for adults and RM12 for kids.

Dotted around the park are various attractions and activities for visitors. Join the “Be an organic farmer” programme and learn the proper methods of organic farming. Park tours are scheduled at 4 different times, at 9.30am, 11.30am, 2.30pm and 4.30pm, bringing visitors to the various farms available here .
After our own “misguided” tour, we sat down for steamboat dinner. We can choose from 2 different type of soup flavours: Kombu (seaweed) or Miso. There are two compartments in the pot so obviously we took both flavours. There’s also an array of sauces to choose from; steamboat chili sauce (medium spicy and very spicy available), teriyaki sauce, mala chili as well as crushed peanuts. After we’ve done eating, we’re required to help them clean up by taking all the dishes to the designated area.
Hello, foodies! Bug’s Paradise Farm is where you go to enjoy organic steamboat with a farm-to-table experience!
I ordered the Lion’s Mane Mushroom Wrap, which is essentially a vegan burrito. Inside was fresh lettuce, carrots, purple cabbage and mushrooms plus a creamy sesame sauce, which bound all the elements together. I don’t like vegetables in general, but these were fresh, sweet and crunchy, and the mushrooms had a nice meat-like texture to them.
