At IKYU, we placed great emphasis on fresh seafood and ingredients, our seafood and seasonal fruits & vegetables are flown directly from Japan Tsukiji Fish Market two to three times a week. Our menu is inspired by the deep impressions and experience acquired by our Master Chef culinary stints in USA, Paris and Japan. The interior of IKYU Japanese restaurant was quite un-Japanese. It occupies a dark space with exposed pipes, bare light bulbs, distressed walls and basic furniture.

Brasserie Gavroche Restaurant

66 Tras Street, Singapore 079005

Brasserie Gavroche celebrates the quintessential spirit of Paris. Since opening its antique wooden doors in 2012, the rustic, hand-me-down French recipes enjoyed by Parisians daily have been a mainstay at this charming shophouse on Tras Street. Timeless dishes prepared by Chef Owner Frederic Colin includes the Potée Auvergnate, a traditional pork hotpot laced with cabbage and garden fresh vegetables and tender meat that simply falls off the bone. Also highly recommended is the Quenelle de poisson sauce Nantua – Grand pere Henri’s fish quenelle of painstakingly hand-grated pike fish fillets is served with a delicious crayfish bisque.

It was an enjoyable lunch as the food at Rhubarb was of a high quality. We thought that the service and the premises were fine but not at the level of the food. But at $45 for the set lunch, we cannot complain. This is good a value for money lunch.
