Reasons to visit Cheong Fatt Tze – The Blue Mansion Penang: fantastic location; a culturally significant stay in a beautifully maintained museum with luxurious amenities and modern-day comforts; lap pool and garden; Indigo restaurant.
The Blue Mansion is now reopened, welcoming Penangites to stay and dine.
We stayed in the largest room category, the Han Suites, which is extra spacious and ideal for our family of four. All their rooms carry names with significance to Cheong Fatt Tze; for instance, our suite was called Mandarin, in honour of Cheong Fatt Tze who was recognised as the last Mandarin of the Highest Order by Empress Dowager. The grand chambers is appointed with a comfortable king-sized bed, as well as a separate sitting room with a day bed (which converts into a bed for the kids at night) and a dining table. We loved the modern bathroom, equipped with a shower and a gorgeous clawfoot bathtub. You will also find various other contemporary comforts and amenities such as a coffee machine, complimentary mini-bar, air-conditioning and complimentary WiFi for your comfort. The traditional sarong provided is a nice touch, where guests are invited to relax like a local. Every evening, local kuih is delivered to your room as part of their turndown service.
We highly recommend you guys to experience what we had at Suffolk House Restaurant.

Personally aku rasa muzium ni sangat menarik. Walaupun dibangunkan secara persendirian dan keadaan tak berapa gah sebagai sebuah muzium tapi koleksi koleksi yang ada memang payah dah nak jumpa. Kalau nak tengok memang kena datang sini. Memang mengimbau kenangan zaman kecik kecik dulu.
I really do not have any idea what is the place all about. Heard about the time tunnel, I can imagine that a place where the kept old stuffs where you can have your nostalgia. I was right.
The ruins of St. Paul’s Church is located at the summit of St. Paul’s Hill and was constructed by Portuguese fidalgo (nobleman) captain, Duarte Coelho, in gratitude to the Virgin Mary for saving his life during a storm at sea.
Interior of the roof-less church; smelt rich of history, i was intrigued by the many large stone plaques by the walls; they are tombstones previously scattered around the church and were affixed in the 1930s.
The St Paul’s Church, Malacca (Jalan Kota, 75000 Malacca, Malaysia) is located on the summit of St Paul’s Hill. Moving beyond the A’ Famosa Fortress remains, is a flight of stairs up the hill to the remains of the St Paul’s Church. Together with the A’ Famosa fortress and the Stadthuys, they form part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Malacca.

展览馆紧挨着麻坡河, 在后方的步道可以欣赏到麻坡河的景色~ 偶尔还可以看到附近居民驾着一辆小船经过~
Despite it not being aimed at my demographic, I really enjoyed TeddyVille. It’s whimsical, fun and charming, and I couldn’t help but get swept along by the absurdity. If you aren’t staying in Batu Ferringhi, then it’d be a bit out of the way – but look into the eyes of the bears and tell them they’re not worth it!
Overall, it is a nice museum to visit and you can find out more about Penang together with the cute little bears.
Melaka Maritime Museum consists of 3 parts: the replica of Flor de la Mar, The Royal Malaysian Navy Museum and Muzium Samudera Phase 2. Read review and details here.
One of the top places to go in Melaka, the Melaka Maritime Museum - Flor De La Mar, where you will learn more about the glorious days of Melaka.
The replica of the ship is about 34m high, 36m in length and 8m wide. It was quite interesting for the kids to walk around the ship, as well as climb up the upper deck to have a look around, especially since Daniel has been learning about Explorers in school last year. They offer audio guides in different languages to visitors (additional cost). A fine way to learn some history along the way!
Melaka Submarine Museum gives you the rare chance to go inside a real submarine on dry land. See review, ticket price and location here.
Ever been onto a submarine? We decidied to bring our kids onto one. Click here for our experience visiting the Melaka Submarine Museum.
I came across the Melaka Submarine Museum completely by accident, due to a dodgy sat nav direction – I love submarines so this was very good luck. It’s not signposted until you’re…
At the end of the day, the most important thing is the kids loved this place and the time we spent as family. The Museum of Illusions Kuala Lumpur is also ideal for couples as well as friends. Time to check out The Museum of Illusions Kuala Lumpur at Ansa Hotel.
My kids loved the Vortex Tunnel and kept going in and out for more than 10 times, whereas their mother backed off after 3 steps – the tunnel made my head spin and I lost my balance! But I loved the kaleidoscope: the photo will make an excellent social media profile picture!
Ticket price: Adult RM35 (with MyKad), RM45 (non-MyKad); Child RM25 (with MyKad), RM35 (non-MyKad); Family RM90 (with MyKad), RM120 (non-MyKad).

To make it more interactive, there are fun quizzes that you can take. Try your hand at trading stocks, or managing the economy using interest rates. (Failed at both and caused the economies to crash. Welp.) There is also a section where you can spin blocks and compare how inflation has caused prices of goods to increase over the years.
国家银行钱币博物馆成立于 1988 年, 除了收藏各式各样的旧钱币, 纪念性硬币, 罕见钱币以及外国货币等之外, 他们家还是马来西亚钱币发展史的研究中心~

The Peranakan or Baba Nyonya culture is a fascinating culture that is unique to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. Shopping at Ah Ma House reminds me of my careful childhood years, with all the goodies that I used to buy and enjoy after school. Time really flies. It felt as if it was just yesterday I indulged in those snacks and now I’m already a mother myself.
Besides the traditional snacks, there are handmade souvenirs for sale as well such as those boxes of beetles saying I love you.
Ah Ma Bakery is a traditional bakery shop. Their products is mainly from the traditional recipe from their grandmom.

The A’ Famosa Fortress, Malacca (Jalan Kota, 75000 Malacca, Malaysia) is located on St Paul’s Hill, near various historical site remains such as the Stadthuys and the St Paul’s Church. Together the buildings form part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Malacca.
In addition to St. Paul’s Church, Stadhuys and Jonker Street, another famous attraction in Malacca is A Famosa Fort also known as Porta De Santiago.
There’s something very powerful and moving about being in places where history was written – you get a sense of being separated only by time, and not by space. Dataran Merdeka, or Merdeka Square, is one such place. It was where Malaya declared its independence from British colonists, where the Union Jack flag was lowered and the Malaysian flag hoisted in its place, and where our forefathers basically laid the foundations of our country.
With all of these tourist destinations in one place, it’s worth making the small walk round the corner from Masjid Jamek LRT – but bring water and a hat, as there is very little shade.
Exhibition gallery with a pretty famous bakery.

Nah, Kampung Kraftangan ni memang sesuai sangat untuk orang-orang yang suka barang kraftangan. Aku yang biasa-biasa je bila tengok barang kraftangan pun berkenan tengok segala benda dekat sini.
