The Blue Mansion is now reopened, welcoming Penangites to stay and dine.
We stayed in the largest room category, the Han Suites, which is extra spacious and ideal for our family of four. All their rooms carry names with significance to Cheong Fatt Tze; for instance, our suite was called Mandarin, in honour of Cheong Fatt Tze who was recognised as the last Mandarin of the Highest Order by Empress Dowager. The grand chambers is appointed with a comfortable king-sized bed, as well as a separate sitting room with a day bed (which converts into a bed for the kids at night) and a dining table. We loved the modern bathroom, equipped with a shower and a gorgeous clawfoot bathtub. You will also find various other contemporary comforts and amenities such as a coffee machine, complimentary mini-bar, air-conditioning and complimentary WiFi for your comfort. The traditional sarong provided is a nice touch, where guests are invited to relax like a local. Every evening, local kuih is delivered to your room as part of their turndown service.

比起六年前，现今的树屋更有规模和妥善了。三点钟抵达树屋之后，稍作休整就到活动厅集合、听敏耀分享树屋的缘起和讲解规矩。感恩老天爷的成全，天气大好，我们换上泳衣，开始约莫1小时的juggle trekking，到树屋独有的瀑布去泡澡。
Conveniently located in town, just a stone throw away from the main street, the Capsule Retreat is a good base to explore the small town. The Kampung atmosphere of the place is heartwarming, people are friendly and there are plenty of good food to hunt down!
This was the room where both of us stayed over. I was quite surprise as it wasn't that spacious like what I thought. Do bear in mind not to bring huge luggage.

Sekeping Serendah is a private retreat attempting to tread lightly on the land. The very transparent and open sheds celebrate the beauty of the natural environment surrounding them. The 10 sheds are intentionally kept basic and free from lavishness, set within a 5 acres tropical rainforest. They float gently over the forest floor beside a bubbling brook.
Sekeping Serendah Retreat is located at Serendah, an hour away from Kuala Lumpur! It is a private retreat consisting 10 sheds (which will be described below) with natural environment surrounding them. Hence, no phone coverage and of course, NO INTERNET :)
I found out about the Sekeping Serendah forest retreat (resort) by coincidence over a dinner conversation, and was intrigued enough to file it away for a future weekend vacation idea. Months later when some relatives made it down to Malaysia for a holiday, the four of us decided to make an overnight trip down to Sekeping Serendah. I called the mobile number listed on their website to make a reservation, and was told that I was very lucky to be able to reserve a Glass Shed for a Friday night on such short notice!

This is a retreat type of resort so please do not expect anything luxurious or posh. There is no air cond and most of the activities available are eco-type such as jungle hiking, visiting the waterfall and such.

Aku memilih untuk bermalam di The Bothy dengan private garden yang luas dan dikelilingi pepohon yang merimbun. Bothy ni merupakan sebuah pondok kecil yang mempunyai 3 dinding dan tiada dinding di bahagian hadapan. Best bila bangun pagi dapat melihat matahari terbit. Tapi kalau terlalu terik atau mahukan privasi, korang boleh turunkan bidai yang disediakan.
What To Expect: The owner and host of the property, Affa, definitely undersold Taman Sari, which was a pleasant surprise for my friends and I as we weren’t expecting such a large area to roam. Verdict: If you want a staycation in the city but secluded from all the hustle bustle, Sekeping Jugra is quite an ideal place. There are restaurants located at the main road (Old Klang Road) which is just a few minutes walk from the premise if you don’t wish to prepare your meal here.
