My first time to Sabah, Kota Kinabalu Malaysia for a 2D1N trip over the weekend. I was searching for a place to stay and decided on Kota Kinabalu Marriott Hotel. This 5-star hotel has a total of 332 rooms with a balcony and its location is close to Centre Point. We paid for less than RM400 per night.

Reasons to visit: pretty resort in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park; good range of nature activities; great culinary journeys; a holiday that is clearly influenced by the local environment (it’s not one of those hotels where you could be anywhere in the world, but a true local experience); and of course, the splendid Spa Village!

Reasons to visit: being a morning person and more of an introvert, my favourite experience was the Sunrise Picnic; if traveling with family or a group of friends, the Sinagang Steamboat is a must.

The Sabah Hotel comes with spacious rooms which has been luxuriously furnished to fulfil all needs. Despite being an old hotel, my deluxe room came with a comfortable king size bed, in-room safe box, dressing table, LCD TV , iron & ironing board, hair dryer, mini fridge, coffee or tea making facilities, 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water

Personally for me, this is definitely heaven on earth and the experience is a whole new level above all the other luxury resorts I ever been (including Lexis Hibiscus, Pangkor Laut Resort, Pulau Rawa, St Regis Langkawi etc)…

The dorm starts from RM45 (as of Oct 2019) and traveller has the option to select either dorm room (4, 6 or 8 per room, female/male/mix), as for studio double or twin, the price ranges from RM150 per room (for 2 pax, I have googled and noticed that you can get lower price from other website on promo). For that amount of comfort, I highly recommend Too Jou.
