Tokyo Yakitori is a new Japanese restaurant in town, sister restaurant to one of the oldest Japanese joints in Penang- Kirishima Japanese Restaurant (at Cititel Penang) but both are geographically near to each other. Though Tokyo Yakitori is just a few shops away from Kirishima, both are targeting different segments- Kirishima's offering is more superior in terms of ingredients and price points while Tokyo Yakitori is more wallet-friendly. Notwithstanding, Tokyo Yakitori still offers decent Japanese delights- from the standard Japanese appetizers to Yakitori (Japanese Skewers) to Sushi, Ramen and Bento Sets. In the evening, the place is turned into a restaurant cum bar that offers a vast selection of Japanese Sake to pair over their range of Skewers. Nevertheless, the place is still suitable for all age-range of diners and that includes both teetotalers and drinkers. Tokyo Yakitori can be found at the T-junction of Sri Bahari Road and Penang Road (next to Kheng Pin Cafe).
