Penang Hill is a huge place, there is definitely a great spot that you can find easily to enjoy the food you bring there.
Hiking is nice and calming, if you wish to see the sunrise, you will need to start hike early in the morning. Do remember to bring a torch light if you hike up early in the morning or late in the evening is there is no street lamp along this route and it will get really dark when the sun set. Along the route there is farm of people growing vegetables so you might bump into some farmers as they are out watering, fertilizing or harvesting their crops.
