Staying there is such an indulgent treat with a spectacular array of Resort facilities, from choice of luxurious 5-star hotels (my choice so far is the Magellan Sutera Resort) , award-winning 27-hole Graham Marsh designed golf course to the 104-berth marina and exhilarating recreational services….

A nice hotel within Kinabalu Park. Basic, but nice and comfortable. The free breakfast is very good as well. Free water refill station available.
Generally, Sutera Sanctuary Lodges offers 11 types of accommodation and I booked the Garden Lodge - a two-storey accommodation comes with 2 luxurious bedrooms and both rooms attached with its own bathroom. The moment when I opened the door, my jaw-dropping by just glanced through the brightly coloured living room polished with wooden floors. Cause we went in December last year which is the month of Christmas, there's a Christmas decoration at the fireplace and this setting making the whole place seems like we're in Western countries. Awww, I begin to love this place.
All things considered, it was an enjoyable stay at Sutera Sanctuary Lodges. The only first world problem is the fact that there's no Wi-Fi connection inside any of the rooms.
Reasons to visit: pretty resort in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park; good range of nature activities; great culinary journeys; a holiday that is clearly influenced by the local environment (it’s not one of those hotels where you could be anywhere in the world, but a true local experience); and of course, the splendid Spa Village!
Reasons to visit: being a morning person and more of an introvert, my favourite experience was the Sunrise Picnic; if traveling with family or a group of friends, the Sinagang Steamboat is a must.
Since we have a long holiday in KK this time, we decided to go glamping since none of us went before in our entire life. Hence, we booked ourselves into the most reasonably priced glamping retreat in Kota Belud.
Verdict You have to come lar, at least try it once. It is really a super duper cool experience. My recommendations are to stay a night here and another night probably camp at Tegudon for stargazing experience. Alternatively, is to camp at Tembara to enjoy another beautiful sunset. Ish… banyak pulak option, macam nil ah… make sure you stay at least 5 days in Kota Kinabalu (outskirt included). Supaya tidak menyesal kemudian hari.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast to start a day of leisurely activities at the Sunbird cafe which is located at the centre of the resort and is inter-connected with timber boardwalk to your lodges. For dinner, you can either order ala-carte of taking a dip in the buffet selections of the day.
Each lodge offers either a twin-bedded or double-bedded airconditioned room with en-suite bathroom with hot water shower, ceiling fan which comes with private balcony overlooking hillside forest or the Lipad river. You get to enjoy the natural environment with a comfortable place to stay in the wilderness.
Tabin Wildlife Reserve is located at the eastern part of Sabah, Malaysia… It is said to be the largest wildlife reserve in Malaysia, encompassing an area of approximately 300,000 acres in the centre of the Dent Peninsula, north-east of Lahad Datu town….
the price range was acceptable and the food was above average. The menu is pretty extensive with wide selection of Chinese stir fried dishes.
Overall it was an amazing trip, one I would dearly love to repeat again soon… The staff at Sutera at Mantanani are jist friendly and accomodative and the experience of staying there and experiencing the island is truly a priceless one that will be always remembered …
Lato-Lato Mun Resort let you experience how the Bajau Laut kampung is like with basic amenities and accommodation, simple Malaysian food and limited use of power supply (1800PM – 0800AM) but you are rewarded and can enjoy the priceless panoramic view and the serenity of living above the reef… believe me it is really so tranquil and lulling, once you get used to it..
The rooms are airconditioned and equipped with the necessity for a comfortable rest for guests.
The Myne Resort offers pretty good rates at just about RM288 (Malaysian) 1 person per night , or RM428 (non Malaysian) 1 person per night… The price is inclusive of full board meals and activities – 1 jungle walk, 1 cruise…
