YURI / Matcha 6th Avenue Cheesecake! Priced at RM21, this is exclusively made available at The Tokyo Restaurant, Isetan The Japan Store, Lot 10. We personally prefer this to the original now as it has the right balance of sweetness together with the matcha. So velvety smooth and tasty!

When the restaurant first opened, everyone was raving about it and we thought "how good can a cheesecake be". Once we had a taste of it, we were hooked! Priced at RM20, you will get a slice of lusciously rich and creamy cheesecake with whipped cream. This decadent cheesecake is made with Danish cream cheese and is baked in a special humidity controlled oven. So delicious! For us, this is the best cheesecake we've tasted in KL!

We're usually here for lunch, and we can't resist a good deal when we see one. The Kalbi and filet set meal (RM30) is very good value for money - it comes with 150g of kalbi boneless rib as well as filet. The set also comes with kimchi, salad, rice and seaweed soup.

Due to changes in the currency exchange rate between the ringgit and the yen, Yakiniku Toraji has improved their signature premium course menu (while retaining the original price) to correctly reflect its true value. Not only the course will include more meat, some of the existing items have been upgraded as well. Lastly, you definitely would not want to miss Yakiniku Toraji’s weekday set lunch. There are two types, one comes with marinated Wagyu beef at RM30 (limited to 10 sets a day) and the other is served with Australian beef (no limit) at RM40. Every set is also accompanied by an appetizer, rice, salad and soup. Trust me, it’s super worth it

If you're craving juicy yet good quality steaks, then this no-frills place for meat, cooked the Japanese way with simply just salt and black pepper, is definitely worth a visit. Although I won't go as far as to say that the steaks here are cheap since some of the wagyu beef can go as high as RM200, you can still find some very reasonably-priced and affordable Australian beef cuts for around RM25. So, go with what you think is within your budget. Besides a meat fest, there are plenty more food options here (like sushi, sashimi, tempura and bento) though I'll be more tempted by the lust of gorgeous meat more than anything else if I'm here again!

The other pasta dish we ordered was the Meatballs Beef Bolognese Pasta @ RM18 served with 3 large meatballs in a typical bolognese sauce. The pre-prepared components, the meatballs may be a little dry but the bolognese sauce was pretty decent. You can't have too high an expectation here knowing that there isn't a proper kitchen but yet they're still able to assemble a hot dish to an acceptable taste level is commendable indeed.

The cafe’s signature is their grilled chicken chop with coffee sauce. It may sound like an odd combination, but the sauce has a nice coffee aroma to it and a slightly bitter tang which cuts through the creaminess and binds all the flavours together. A Bento box is a handy solution to the standard rectangular lunchbox. The secure lid opens to reveal a compartment style interior where different foods can be placed in different sections of the box. These compartments are just big enough so that you do not need to overfill one type of food. Hence, a more complete balanced meal is obtained in one Bento box. Since the amount is fixed before lunch time, we don’t have to over eat even though we are hungry. Balanced diet and controlled portion, how cool is that? For those shopping or working in KL city, do you know that you can now have a balanced and fulfilling Japanese bento meal at ISETAN THE JAPAN STORE for only RM15?

If you deliver the right portion it would make much more sense. Sorry Dome, doesn't make sense for a cafe to charge that kind of price. The top layer of the cake is non-baked cheese while the bottom layer of the cake is baked cheese. The texture of the top layer is soft like ‘tofu’ similar to Uncle Tetsu style of cheese cake while the bottom layer is strong with cheese flavour. We find the cheese cake taste is just right, soft and the really addictive.
