Avocado De La Mer Pipping hot cheesy baked seafood with lots of mushrooms and piquant miso. Beware as it will be burning hot. Highly recommended for a cheesy baked lover!
Torii is a Japanese pub alike restaurant with yakitori a.k.a meat skewers as their signature. They have a range of sake, red wines, champagnes and any other exotic type of alcohol beverages which you may never heard of. The most bizarre wine which cost RM15,000++ is also available here. I wonder how long does it takes for them to sell one bottle of that.
Matsusaka and Kobe beef are often regarded as the best beef in Japan. Steak lovers in KL can rejoice, as Torii is bringing premium Japanaese steaks to you at their Batai outlet. Diners can indulge in several different breeds and cuts, including Matsusaka, Kobe Zabuton, and Kobe Sirloin of differing meat grades (ranging from A5 to F1), along with a variety of delicious sides specially crafted by Executive Chef Nizam and his kitchen team.
If you are looking for Yakitori shop, this is definately one of them but for their ODEN, I must say it is one of the best I had so far. Could it be best ODEN in KL?
Toridoki has a fantastic selection of chicken dishes made from every conceivable part of the bird. They also have a variety of drinks including Japanese style cocktails, sake and beer.
Just around the corner from the stretch of classy looking Japanese restaurants, Tori Doki at Desa Sri Hartamas aims for something a little more cheerful and joyous. The brightly lit dining room with a grill bar has a polished, contemporary feel, attracting a more mature clientele looking for a drink or two to go with a lineup of standard options like yakitori and tempura, as well as of the luxe ingredients and seasonal items.
Reasons to visit RyoRi at The Great Beer Bar: as mentioned in the introduction, beer and barbecue is happiness; craft beer and Japanese barbecue is elation.
Brewlander Respect (Porter) Finally, to cap things off, we ended with the Brewlander Respect. This for me was the star of the show. If you enjoy darker Porter beers, this is the one for you. It's full-bodied taste with hints of coffee and bitter-sweet notes will guarantee a satisfying experience, especially after a heavy meal or after an intense night out.
MUST TRY: Crispy Pork Belly with Apple Sauce and Mushroom
I highly recommend the Butabara (Pork Belly) & Torimomo (chicken leg & thigh) the sauce that was marinated into these skewers were just amazing, I would come back for more because it's just so hard to resist!
Chicken Karaage (RM16) And this round, we sampled a few of Torikin’s signature that definitely make us to come back again. We started off with their delicious Chicken Karaage which was perfectly deep fried till golden brown. The chicken maintained its juiciness and yet the aromatic flavor and the crispiness was there. It was addictively delicious and tempting.
Tori Soboro (RM24). Minced chicken with egg on rice. Again, really overpriced, but not bad to eat. Just that, instead of finishing a bowl of it to yourself, I would really advise you to share it with others because the more you eat, the greasier it gets. Miso soup was really good though!
A Hidden Gem for Heavenly Best Satay in Kelantan!
In summary, there were a couple of hits and misses with the food we had. In hindsight I would have probably skipped the boiled clam (too salty), assorted yakitori (better pick your own combination) and scallop. That said, despite being more expensive, this was still a more satisfying meal than what we had at The Fat Fish.
We had the Chicken Katsu Pillow Rice for RM 13.90 - with fluffy egg, delicious curry and two chicken balls that has cheese filling. Seating might be a challenge as they only have 6 seats along the bars but you can always take away. What a real bargain and discovery here!
