Verdict: Definitely not a bad choice to assuage one’s yearning for homey Chinese boiled soup (steamed soup in this case). Prices are really wallet friendly, nothing too fancy (except those exotic soups), just hearty wholesome food served in a fuss-free setup.
Moving onto the more “exotic” dish, pork lovers would love the Wild Boar Curry (RM7.50). It’s a bowl of wild boar pieces, complemented by the fragrance of thick curry broth, sprinkled with cilantro. The wild board was tender so it was a pleasure to enjoy. The curry was thick and has a hint of spiciness to it, it’s perfect for those with heavy flavoured taste buds.
I read about this dish at Souper Tang so I ordered it to share with my friend. I find fish maw, sea cucumber, mushrooms, bean curd puffs, fish fillets, broccoli, meat balls, white fungus and many pieces of tendons in it. We also had a bowl of brown rice each at about MYR2.50 for a bowl.
What do We Like about 三盅兩件 Soup Restaurant? -Foods were all tasty -Serving speed was fast and environment is comfortable
Soup Restaurant clearly executes classic home-style Chinese food very well. There were strong hits, and there were near-hits with the Tofu Prawns being the weakest chink in their armour, but I have to say that our dinner that night was satisfying. We still aren't completely sold on their "no MSG" tagline, but if that's really the case, then kudos to them for that as well.
