Meanwhile, Lemongrass Chicken was great. It was served in chicken cubes format and nicely seasoned to have the desired sweetness and aromatic scent. I was surprised there were so many chicken cubes in that plate served to us.
Rung Reang Thai Food Restaurant does serve other type of dish too, since i am alone dining here, so i order a combo rice, chicken and vegetables like this for one person.
We came here twice during our holiday. In small part because of the lack of better options in Tanjung Rhu, but also because we couldn’t get enough of the pad thai and fresh seafood. Everything is so cheap that I wanted to order a bundle of items to try but had to be talked down. Cheap, edible food is one thing, but Dawan has cheap tasty food. Dawan Thai Kitchen is a good option to introduce something other than Malaysian food or fish and chips into your vacation dinners.
For a great Thai-ish start, we ordered Tomyam Mix (RM 16), which is served piping hot, refreshing and not too overwhelm spicy to relish. There is Kheng Som too should you prefer a more acid sharp taste.
Overall, the food here is tasty, place is clean but their service is a bit slow.

This is one of the Thai restaurants frequently visited by the students studying in Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM); there are two branches in Kedah, one in Alor Star while another one can be found in Jitra. 5 Utara Thai Seafood offers a substantial range of Thai food, especially with the Southern Thai influences. The setting of the place is casual and the prices are very reasonable (considering the generous portion). One of the decent places to stop by if you happened to travel up to North.

We recommend ordering their Thai-styled stir fried Vermicelli Noodles, though it may seem like a common dish but they have executed well. The noodles come with a heavy wok-hei punch. Together with its spicy Sambal, the flavors were amazing
