A hot pot of Tomyum served piping hot with assorted seafood did sooth our crave for Tomyum, a little sour that compliment with tolerable spiciness. Under the air conditioned space, no sweat to finish the whole pot
Overall, most dishes that I tasted here today pass with flying colors.
Wang Thai at All Seasons Place has been serving up Thai food for the residents in the neighborhood for quite some time but recently, there's a stiff competition for Thai food, particularly within the commercial building of All Seasons Place. The new addition- Chang Thai Restaurant is the new venture behind Tomyummy Noodle House. It has plenty of Thai-influenced dishes to offer- from Kerabu to Fried Fritters, Tom Yum, Seafood and classic stir fry dishes. But prices are on the higher side and the food quality is merely passable-satisfactory.
Overall, we highly recommend the Assam laksa here, as it was our favourite bowl during this Penang trip. We enjoyed the well-balanced broth and flakiness of the mackerel bits.
Kim Laksa is one of the Laksa stalls that sells 2 types of Asam Laksa and Siam Laksa in Balik Pulau. Selling Laksa for more than 40 years this Kim Laksa is bringing the Penang's Flavour to the world. Besides that, the Vietnamese Food here is also very nice and authentic. The Banh Mi is so yummy and sells at a very affordable price. This goes the same as Vietnamese Chee Cheong Fun which is very appetizing and appealing.
This is lemak laksa, which contains coconut milk.
The Pad Thai Seafood (RM 8.90) was impressive. It shares almost 70% similarities with the Pad Thai we had in Bangkok and the heat component was no joke. It put our mouth on fire and we had to take small pauses in between to give some resting period for our tongue.
Pineapple Fried Rice RM8.90 This is the best dish that we ordered. Yummy!
The vendor brings cuisine from Thailand, all prepared with authentic taste using traditional ingredients.
Prik Ki Nu, this Thai restaurant that served Mookata back in those days is now serving Thai Style cooking and frying dishes. The cooking of the Prik Ki Nu is by the real Siamese from Thailand. The dishes are mostly hot and spicy. The volcano pork ribs here are very spicy and exciting. The lemon-steamed seafood here also shows the Thai representative to diners. The pickled radish and the Kailan Stir Fried Salted Fish are also recommended for those not in favor of hot and spicy.
We personally recommend the Chicken slices... marinated in their own marination sauce- sweet, peppery and definitely unique in its own way. We also enjoyed how clear and clean the hotpot broth was.... well-seasoned with a bold vege sweetness
The flavors of the seafood stir-fried otak dish are very addictive – the spiciness and creaminess of the coconut milk go well against the sweetness of the seafood. Another well-composed dish is the asparagus prawn dish, stir-fried with a rich and pungent sambal sauce.
Tom Yum Seafood was delicious... with the quintessential acidity and spiciness, they were pretty generous with the amount of Seafood as well
For something more solid, give Triple Star Hainanese Chicken Rice a go. The Chicken is available in 2 different variants- poached or roasted; both are equally delicious and best served over the Chicken Rice seasoned rice.
Here's the location.
We unanimously agreed that the best dish of the day was the Green Curry Udon. We were worried if the Green Curry will turn out to be too thick to go with the Japanese noodles but it was in fact, in the perfect consistency. It was not too watered down nor it was too thick, just good enough to cling onto the noodles and giving them the necessary flavors. The noodles were expertly cooked to the right texture either- bouncy and definitely not slouchy. For such a satisfying portion, we thought the price was well-justified.
On the other hand, the Thai Fish Cake (RM 4 per piece) were alright. Although the taste could not match those in Thai nor it was close to the authentic Thai fish cakes, the texture were ok. It is the first times we see such an enormous quantity of long beans in the Thai fish cakes too.
On the other hand, Century Egg with Minced Pork & Holy Basil (RM 18) was a great choice for the night. The minced pork is nicely executed with great aroma, and somehow its gravy made a better choice to dress the white rice compared to tomyam
Blue Chang's Set Lunch offers great value... every set comes with a serving of Thai Papaya Salad, a glass of Thai Milk Tea and a serving of Coconut Ice Cream. The braised Pork Knuckle was delicious, though slightly sweet, the meat was beautifully cooked till fork tender... it carried a hint of spiciness and perfectly spooned over Rice
The Crab Porridge, a well-loved favorite, is a bowl of creamy soft porridge cooked with crab and fresh ginger, providing a gingery finish. If we could ask for a little less ginger, it would be lovely as the porridge will show a heightened sweetness of the crab.
We also tried their Pad Thai... which turned out to be pretty good. The seasonings were spot on and the quintessential "wok hei" was there... our only complain was the small portion
This shop served delicious and fresh Thai style Crab Porridge. The Tomyam here also wonderful. The Thai style curry crab here is also packed with spices aroma. All there are prepared by Thai Lady Boss.
For a no-frills Thai Mookata experience, look no further than this curious space at Automall, Karpal Singh Drive. Affordably priced at Rm 19.90 for a basic set (serves 2), budget watchers can now enjoy delicious Thai Steamboat at unbeatable price, well-complemented with sea breeze. The simple set includes some basic meat balls, greens and meat but those with a deeper pocket can always top up extra few dollars for the additional spread. Bangkok Garden BBQ is not air-conditioned and instead, it relies on the sea breeze so the best time to visit would probably in the evening. The serving portion is not that great but it would be perfectly fine to be served as supper in lieu of a proper meal. Bangkok Garden BBQ can be found right next to Sae Ma Eul Korean BBQ Restaurant.
Thai Milk Tea is my favorite Thai Drinks and is really nice that Chern Ka is serving them.
Those fared well were the Thai-styled Grilled Pork Meat and Cha Omh. The former one had a tender-meaty texture with a delightful smokiness to it.
The only thing that rescue the night was Moo Ping (RM 3 / piece, min 2 pieces) as the pork skewers were nicely grilled with a nice char scent.
The star dish of the day was Sizzling Beef... tender, juicy and flavorful meat served on a sizzling hot pan... with Black Pepper sauce; not too Thai but definitely very delicious.
All in all, Chili Head Social Bar & Eatery definitely the Thai food dining experience in the heart of Tanjong Tokong.
Environment is comfortable but the place is not that big with only a few seating place. I enjoy my meal here and would definitely come back again for more.
Environment here is nice and their service is good too. I love their food here, will definitely come back for more.
Sam Thalia is a wonderful place to visit with your friends and family.
So, included in the Eat-All-You-Can RM99++ package, you can also enjoy unlimited scoops of premium Baskin Robbins as well as Haagen Dazs ice cream.
We love the food and environment here, and we hope that you will love it too.
It's a must to try their signature Thai Boat Noodles... WhatSaeb's rendition comes with either Dry or Soup version.... served with a Chicken Drumstick, Meatballs and Herbs. The serving portion was pretty small and was no where near to a filling meal. The texture of the Noodles was alright but it was a little over-seasoned in our opinion. We needed to add a dash of Chili sauce to neutralizes the salinity.
For main, the Pad Thai was delicious. The noodles were expertly cooked and the serving portion was hearty... we enjoyed the dish to the max with the addition of their home-made Chili sauce... a tangy but tongue-burning concoction, the type of sensation that one would seek and expect in authentic Thai food.
