Another one of our favourites here is the Fried Anchovies. I find the preparation here to be really good. The price is now RM 12.90 and we found the portion to be decent. Preparation was good and again, this too deserves a rating of 9/10. Do note that this is a spicy dish and comes with lot's of bird eye chillies.
Coliseum is most well known for their sizzling meats and that's exactly what they're good at. I would just stick with anything sizzling...in brown or black pepper sauce.....and forget about everything else...except (maybe?) their Hainanese Chicken Chop (which many have sing praises of) though I'm doubtful the sauce (which looks too reddish from the photos I see on blogs), probably leaning more towards a tart tomato-based sauce, can be better than Yut Kee's (which I absolutely love).
Coliseum Cafe is a popular dining spots. The cafe is fully packed during dinner time especially on weekends. We waited for around 30mins to be seated. Oh well, good food are worth the wait right?
Bookmark Coffee - worth returning? Yes – definitely. It is a nice location with comfy ambience to do lunch/dinner or just me-time to chill for some remote working and coffee.
Ever since I came here with my editor, I’ve been a big fan of their smoked duck pandan rice, which is superb and comes in generous portions – and I’ve really missed it after nearly two months in quarantine.
For mains, I went with the house specialty: Pandan Rice with Smoked Duck (RM20). It was very tasty, and I can definitely see myself coming back for a return visit. The smoked duck came in hefty portions and it had great flavour with none of the gaminess. The pandan rice was fragrant and fluffy, and the vegetables helped cut through the heaviness of the meat. Topping it off was a perfectly fried sunny side up.
What do We Like about Flour Fire & Stone? -Good breakfast selection and tasty meal -Peach strudel is a MUST order
I simply ordered the set lunch fish sandwich at MYR 16.50++ (MYR 19.14 nett) which includes soup of the day and ice cream. Soup of the day is mushroom soup and plain drinking water is provided foc. I was told that it was tilapia when I asked but I couldn't tell what fish it is. Anyway, all I can say is that I wouldn't order this again because I am trying to eat less deep fried food.
What do We Like about Dou Remy? -Spacious interior -Good selection of the pastries
[Pork-free] Located in PJ Midtown, Papercino is a new café that occupies the front of the interior design firm Paperworks Studio.
Salmon en Papillote This was a very interesting dish and quickly became a favourite! The salmon was extra juicy, with the flavours and texture perfectly intact due to it being baked in an oven inside it’s wrap of baking paper. Sitting on a bed of vegetables, Beurre blanc or French White Butter is then poured over the ensemble to give it a wonderful savory taste and aroma. For the discerning diner, Beurre Blanc is a hot emulsified butter sauce made with white wine and or reduced vinegar, into which butter is blended in. The resultant creamy sauce is a classic and often served with fish.
The food here really vary. Some are really delicious and their portion is so generous which I would say... certain dishes here worth the price. Will come here again to try on the cake too! Imma sweet tooth!
