While the set lunches are decently price, an ala carte meal would be pricey for a cafe. Expect to spend close to $50 per pax for a meal over the weekend.
Service at Cafe Melba, in their Goodman Arts Centre outlet, is good. Staff are proactive and friendly, quickly greeting and seating guests.
Two visits later and I can finally conclude. A nice place to lay back and chill but it’s not a place I say you can keep returning regularly even though it has a nice Aussie vibe. Food wise I say it’s marginal for the price. It was hearty, good for sharing but I was expecting if I’m going to pay that much.

There is no lack of dining options in Joo Chiat and Supperman Speakeasy & Grill is one casual option to consider if you are looking to have grilled meats or dishes. Nothing too complicated on the menu, though I feel that the restuarant needs to create a stronger identity amidst the stiff dining competition in Katong.

If you come in the evening, there are usually no promotions. Without the promos, the overall price is akin to a mid-range restaurant. However, if you come when they have set lunches or even 1 for 1 offer, Jack Place is a good place to enjoy a good piece of steak. Nonetheless, this place is nostalgic and will appeal to the older crowd.
The Aston Specialities is a good place to go as a family. It has a soothing atmosphere with its bright and western decor. While the food is not exactly one that one would rave about, it is palatable. It is good that it is budget-friendly too!
The abysmal experience definitely leaves little or no room for a revisit even.
Do note that Kaffles is not opened every day. It is only available on Friday and Saturday from 6pm onwards. The addition of Kaffles to the menu has given diners more reason to visit the cafe again.
We have to say that the food served at Wine Mansion @ Katong V looked as good as, if not better than, what was shown in the photographs on the menu or on the promotion posters.
All Omakase courses will consist of an appetiser, sushi and dish of the day from the hot kitchen.
Overall, the food at La Barca is definitely something to look forward to. It is a place where you can get great Tuscan food, suitable for formal dining or family dining out.
