The Asam Laksa was awesome too. Although this dish I decided to go for SMALL, the portion was generous as well. The sardines, at most eateries, I’d usually get only one chunk but here is got three, large pieces. Now that, I liked very much. It makes all the difference, you know? Yea yea, I am tad cuckoo when it comes to them sardines. Then, there was the laksa noodles + cracker/keropok + lettuce + shrimp paste + onions + pineapples. A satisfying dish it was. It embodied and fulfilled all the elements of an asam laksa.

Besides curry noodles and assam laksa, they also offer Tom Yum Noodles, Fish Ball Noodles and Jawa Mee. The curry noodles here is definitely my preferred choice over the assam laksa. This curry mee can give our favourite curry laksa a run for its money although it didn't knock it off its top spot in our books. Plus the price for such a fully loaded bowl makes it really cheap. Make sure you order their two side snacks of Penang Lobak and Penang Otak-Otak as they're equally yum. If you can't make it here, they've opened a stall in Makan-Makan by Parkson (on Level 3, Sunway Velocity Mall) since February 2017 under the name of Homey Curry Laksa (now that's a name I can understand). They strive to give you the homemade taste (like your mom or grandma makes or use to make) in their curry mee, hence the name Jia Li Mian or Homey Curry Laksa. Did they deliver? For me, they did.

It does not look like a restaurant from the outside nothing that can entice you to walk into the place, even if you take a peep into it, you might be shock in what you see. It cannot be a restaurant.

Since there were only chicken breast and wing left for the normal chicken (white chicken), we opted for the kampung chicken. Like most chicken rice restaurants in town, kampung chicken (‘choi yun gai’) is only served in at least half a chicken’s portion. So it’s either take it or leave it kind of situation. 5 years ago, half a kampung chicken at Loke Yun cost RM30. Now it’s RM39. If that sounds premium, you should know that there’s another even more expensive option – Crystal Chicken which goes for RM48 for half a bird. If we ever return, we will definitely try that.

I absolutely loved this Cantonese chang because it doesn't use soy sauce in the rice (besides the rice being not fried) which allows me to taste the glutinous rice grains in its pure form. On unwrapping the chung, I could see a bit of the rice stuck to the bamboo leaves which I didn't mind at all as that would mean the chung is less oily.

Dried Handmade Pan Mee, 8.50 ringgit This dish was yummy. It basically consisted of rather colorful yellow, green homemade noodles + minced meat + fried pork fat + fried anchovies + seaweed? The soup was light and tasty, it added a good amount of flavours to the toppings in the steamboat wok. The Beef, Lamb and Chicken we had were lacking in marination so that the meat would be able to absorb flavours from the soup. Same goes to the seafood, tofu and vegetables, all tasted as “real” as possible.

Although Medini’s Barbecue Restaurant calls itself a halal Korean style BBQ buffet restaurant, you should set your expectations straight before coming here. There’s actually nothing Korean about their food except the kimchi which they serve as the appetizer. The marinade they use for the meat is a local recipe and even the dipping sauces are sambal and kicap manis. The price is RM49.90 nett/pax (RM23.90 for children below 12) and contrary to most buffet restaurants in town, there’s no time limit imposed for the buffet so you can take your to enjoy your meal

Be prepared, chicken wings are so hairy!! Those wings are also absolutely unfresh and beware of uncooked ones. We had a few uncooked pieces and we asked them to change. Uncle said it's normal for redish blood to be flowing out from the chicken wings. Normal?????? I am so confused.

Trust us when we say that our pork patties are one of the most succulent and tender ones around - perfected through 70 years of practice by our ancestors. To further elevate the already mouthwatering recipe, new flavouring ingredients we added, such as Mui Choi, Tung Choi, Coriander, Salted Fish, Dried Squid and Dried Oyster. These flavours may sound familiar, but boy are they exquisite combinations.
