Overall, I had a much better dining experience at Chicken Up Subang Jaya and for Korean Fried Chicken, they do get the seal of approval from me :)
超值的Snow Squid Topokki,让我们一次过吃到泡菜炒饭、玉米、韩式年糕、芝士、鸡蛋和超大size的炸八抓鱼!
In the past, it has been picked by Tan Hsueh Yun, food editor at SPH, as the best tasting Korean Fried Chicken in Singapore from a blind tasting challenge conducted by RazorTV. In this challenge, the editor was asked to try 8 different Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) recipes from 8 different stores in Singapore while she was blindfolded. After describing each of the 8 chicken dish, she was made to choose which one is the BEST, and has picked CHICKEN UP as the Best Korean Fried Chicken! And now, this loved by many Korean chains has arrived onshore at Subang Jaya, to be much nearer to Klang Valley folks here. The chic 3-storey restaurant is located just opposite SS15 Courtyard Mall, making it conveniently accessible and is also near to Subang Jaya newly extended LRT station.
Overall, it is a great hang out spot with family and friends for their wide variety Korean chicken menu. The food is good and the price is reasonable too, definitely i will come back again! As the location is nearby shopping mall, college and residential area, there are always crowded. Do expect the long waiting time especially during lunch and dinner hours, I am not sure if they do reservations but you can give it a try.
We would also highly recommend the Bulgogi Fries (RM26) - the fries are loaded with thin slices of beef marinated in soy sauce, and then drizzled with white garlic sauce and loads of sliced onions. Truly sinful and delicious!
Verdict: 1. Overall, it is a family-friendly restaurant for delicious Korean chicken dishes. Great location, interesting modern Korean dining concept, huge portion, and reasonable price. *Do expect an average spending per pax of RM50 or more. 2. Revisit? Yes! I’d definitely be back to try out other recommended ala carte items such as the hearty Ugly Tang, Seafood Spicy Noodle, Mama's Ginseng Chicken Soup and more. 3. Recommended: Ganjang Soya Sauce Chicken Wings, Snow Squid Topokki, Melon Bingsu
Recently, Chicken Up has found a new home in the bustling area of SS15 in Subang Jaya, adjacent to SS15 Courtyard Mall. Despite the heavily congested area that is constantly a parking nightmare, Chicken Up fans have been flocking there for treats of Chimaek and other Korean goodies. Housed in a 3-storey shop lot, Chicken Up currently seats 120 pax and even then, there’s a queue waiting constantly for this outlet. A compound word formed from chicken and maekju (Korean word for beer), Chimaek is hitting our F&B scenes and we are totally embracing it. Fried chicken and beer, whats not to like? Sounds like the perfect partner in crime to me!
Recently, I was introduced to Chicken Up, Singapore’s No.1 Korean Fried Chicken, the latest addition to bustling Subang Jaya, expanding its culinary influence with their first outlet in Johor Bharu. Making a mark in the Korean's food scene, Located in the heart of Subang Jaya, Chicken Up brings to you a modern and trendy Korean dining experience with its food galore.
Overall, food here is quite alright, reasonable in price. Beerita and Sojurita are highly recommended. Waiting time is still long for now especially during lunch and dinner hours, but we hope the crowd would be more manageable in near future so that staffs can be more focused, attentive to on all diners.
