In the past, it has been picked by Tan Hsueh Yun, food editor at SPH, as the best tasting Korean Fried Chicken in Singapore from a blind tasting challenge conducted by RazorTV. In this challenge, the editor was asked to try 8 different Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) recipes from 8 different stores in Singapore while she was blindfolded. After describing each of the 8 chicken dish, she was made to choose which one is the BEST, and has picked CHICKEN UP as the Best Korean Fried Chicken!

And now, this loved by many Korean chains has arrived onshore at Subang Jaya, to be much nearer to Klang Valley folks here. The chic 3-storey restaurant is located just opposite SS15 Courtyard Mall, making it conveniently accessible and is also near to Subang Jaya newly extended LRT station.

Chicken Up @ Subang SS15

Overall, it is a great hang out spot with family and friends for their wide variety Korean chicken menu. The food is good and the price is reasonable too, definitely i will come back again! As the location is nearby shopping mall, college and residential area, there are always crowded. Do expect the long waiting time especially during lunch and dinner hours, I am not sure if they do reservations but you can give it a try.

Chicken Up Malaysia, Subang Jaya

We would also highly recommend the Bulgogi Fries (RM26) - the fries are loaded with thin slices of beef marinated in soy sauce, and then drizzled with white garlic sauce and loads of sliced onions. Truly sinful and delicious!

Chicken Up @ SS15, Subang Jaya

Recently, Chicken Up has found a new home in the bustling area of SS15 in Subang Jaya, adjacent to SS15 Courtyard Mall. Despite the heavily congested area that is constantly a parking nightmare, Chicken Up fans have been flocking there for treats of Chimaek and other Korean goodies. Housed in a 3-storey shop lot, Chicken Up currently seats 120 pax and even then, there’s a queue waiting constantly for this outlet.

A compound word formed from chicken and maekju (Korean word for beer), Chimaek is hitting our F&B scenes and we are totally embracing it. Fried chicken and beer, whats not to like? Sounds like the perfect partner in crime to me!

Chicken Up Subang, SS15: Famous Korean Fried Chicken from Singapore

Overall, food here is quite alright, reasonable in price. Beerita and Sojurita are highly recommended. Waiting time is still long for now especially during lunch and dinner hours, but we hope the crowd would be more manageable in near future so that staffs can be more focused, attentive to on all diners.

Chicken Up , SS15

Watermelon Bingsu
Bingsu , the signature dessert of Chicken Up also known to be a highly popular snack food in Korea , Chicken Up Bingsus will surely fill-up more of your sweet craving , satisfying your ice cold longing . Chicken Up also offers Melon Bingsu . Unlike other Bingsu, all of the Bingsu are basically made of frozen milk mushed finely all together with its fruity toppings . this Bingsu is definitely a good choice. You’ll find this dessert especially enjoyable during hot sunny days because of its thirst-quenching effect and it’s good for sharing too , Each of the toppings and tge Bingsu give a contrasting texture that melts in your mouth while you eat it. It is served in a biggie size watermelon shell .

Chicken Up @ SS15 Subang Jaya

This Korean classic is affectionately known as ‘the other KFC’, and so, so much better than its namesake. This alternative KFC is set to take over the world & ever since the broadcast of the well known K-drama – it’s a dish that it’s hard to eat in moderation. Serve it up with the sauces and be prepared to get very sticky fingers.
The succulently moist chicken is covered in golden batter, which is in turn drenched with sweet, salty and sticky chilli sauce. I love the slow-burn warmth of the gochujang in the sauce! This is such a great dish for making a hungry crowd happy. Much agreed.

Chicken Up @ Subang Jaya, SS 15

Fried chicken happened to not only be a cult fave in Korea but also one of my all time favourite. When Singapore’s leading chicken house (Chicken Up) made their debut in SS15 Subang Jaya, I never hesitated to visit them. Interior was very hipster and comfortable with vibrant colours and very friendly staffs.

Chicken Up – Singapore’s #1 Korean Fried Chicken @ Subang Jaya

Chicken Up is the latest addition to the lineup of Korean joints in KL and I am just glad that cheese is not used as a tool to attract customers.
Seriously, it’s time to put a stop to this cheese madness. Not everything magically tastes better with cheese, OK? Anyway, if our chimaek dinner was anything to go by, I can say with some confidence that Chicken Up will be here to stay.
